Whats happening with my lawn?

JW

Hello,

I planted new sod
almost six weeks ago and my backyard looks like it is dying. I just recently
fertilized and after reading some information others posted on this site I am
wondering if corn meal will be the solution? Different parts of the yard get
full sunlight at different hours of the day due to a chinese pistache I have in
the middle, but I think it is getting enough sunlight.

I spotted last week
what I think was a chinch bug, and used spectricide triacide as my neighbors
suggested it and have had good success with it. I'd like to make a shift
towards more organic methods however.

Underneath the sod,
the area was prepped with lawn soil from a local gardenville center in San
Antonio, and the installed sod was rolled with a
sod roller and watered immediately and everyday since. Temps have
been high 90's into 100's here in San Antonio, and it seems that everytime I
backed off watering a little bit (going from twice daily to once in morning)
the grass has gotten worse, more thinned out and more browning.

Please take a look
at these photos of my FJ select St Augustine grass and let me know what you
think might the be problem as I have no idea.

Thank you,

JW
