Another WWYD?
Comments (40)Starvation wasn't to blame..."No, just bad manners." Due to insufficient discipline in the home, no doubt. Resulting in what is commonly known as a "spoiled brat." Thanks for your kind words, BB, but one of my pet peeves is children allowed to run wild. Thank goodness you called him on his inappropriate actions. Maybe no one else in his life does! Children need & even want limits. When they are over-indulged this sort of behavior results. No telling what else this little fellow will get his hands into next (no pun intended.) While I don't think I'd be "mean," to a child, I wouldn't hestitate to be a little stern if called for. You did a good job, and balanced your authority with sensitivity....See MoreReuse Center Find: WWYD?`
Comments (2)I thought I'd show you the cabinet. It's got a nice end panel I'll remove, and the doors with it are pretty, ready for glass. However, I'll take them off and put on a beaded inset face frame and doors that give me an Ahh HA! Someday I'll actually get a camera. It would go here in the center. I had to knock out the stile in this cabinet to put up the new(to me) W1536 beaded inset. I like the differences in height. So I'm thinking I'm going to do it. Anyone have any reason I shouldn't? I worry about the depth being too much, but then I keep reading how people love their deeper cabs. I could always put feet on it, glass in the doors and use it for a bathroom linen cabinet. If I had room for furniture. Seems all my walls are covered in cabinets or bookshelves! Go figure!...See MoreAnother WWYD question
Comments (14)That tenant's got a problem in that she want's to live like she's living in a single family home when she's not. I did the neighborly gig with the nosey controlling neighbor in our subdivision. Being friendly and kind only made it worse because she thought she had the right to know who was on our property at all times and we'd never object. We were always being watched or even interupted so she could see what we were doing, until one day I finally went off on her. Now I'm not as giving as most in these types of scenarios. I'd be inclinded to stand my ground from the git go and tell the super that your daughter has every intention of being a good neighbor but since this tenant has a long history of complaining he should probably go back and have a serious conversation with the tenant. You're not doing anything wrong and will continue with the renovating that is needed. Renovations or not, noise from other units is to be expected when living in a building with shared walls. Most of all Ellen, I'm just sorry that this special time for you and your daughter has to be ruined by some b*tchy neighbor who obviously needs to get a life....See MoreAnother Christmas related WWYD?
Comments (15)Giving them a gift seems like a tit for tat to me. It would not be on my radar to give them one. To clarify, we are very always good and helpful neighbors, but we are not involved in the social circle on our block. Why this is would be a whole other thread! So, I guess dropping a thank you note would seem silly? ETA: CindyMac I am thinking of doing your pecan recipe. Do you store them in a plastic Tupperware? I bake a few good cakes, but I really don't want to bring over a cake. I'm not into cookies except for Christmas ones....See Morebossyvossy
