I love my bean arch! So many beans hanging down inside it, just waiting for me to pick.

What a great idea Susan!!! The landlords grow pole beans in their garden. Tall climbing beans, and the beans are large and flat.

We get many many goodies from their garden. :-)

I bought this eggplant at the farmers' market today. The seller assured me it is better tasting than the regular shape.

That's a new-to-me eggplant Pam. Maybe you don't need to salt and drain this one, who knows?

party_music, nicole, susan, thank you for the compliments. That pic was taken a week ago. Since then the grass has started to brown due to lack of rain. The work in the 16 or so individual beds falls primarily to my DH. He just finished the 2'nd edging of most of the beds for the growing season. The excessive rain early on made it impossible to keep ahead of the weeds. Many plants in the beds need dividing. That just isn't on DH's priority list and i am not able to do anything other than what I can easily reach from my scooter. Hoping to hire some help next spring.
