HELP!! Need help floor plugs! Recessed????
Comments (4)Here's a low cost solution for you that might be even better than recessed receptacles. There is a type of extension cord made that goes by the name of FlatPlug or SnugPlug that has a redesigned plugin that is only 1/4" high when plugged in and the cord comes out of the "side" so there's nothing to stick up. They're great when you have no clearance behind furniture or want something that is totally flat with a floor plugin. Below is a link that will show you what they look like. Would something like this solve your problem? Here is a link that might be useful: FlatPlug...See Morerecessing refrigerator completely
Comments (14)Thanks for all the input. I've done and thought about most of the things suggested by everyone, including taking a template of a wall to the store for testing. The fridge will be in the walking path to the dining room so minimizing the amount sticking out was part of the goal. Sorting through all the dimension options left me unsatisfied. When my husband came up with this idea, I figured it was worth looking into. @ Live Wire...your drawing was very useful. Thank you for taking the time to produce it. If my GC can find me six more inches of width, I may revert to 42" built in, but otherwise, I'll just have to adjust to the downside of a standard depth. Sure wish they would make one you could built in. Murphy's Law says probably see one next year! :)...See MoreNeed help with my existing recessed lightening.Need to add more lights
Comments (6)I will not be needing a gimbal for the two new recessed lights. They will not be used to highlight anything on the wall. (see pic's below) I just need for lightening above the sofa because it is too dark in the seating area . Unfortunately I do not have the manufacturer's name, the design electrician never gave it to me (and it is so many years ago). My thing is that I just want it to look nice & not look awkward. If I can't get the same exact gold rim (naturally without the gimbal) then I feel I would have to go with a white rim or no rim recessed above the dark sofa area. My concern (I would appreciate your honest opinion) ... Do people mix them up like that? Have two different style recessed lightening in the same room? see the dark area where my verticals are (left of sofa). You can also see the gold gimbals recessed on the right. Thank you for your patience....See MoreRefrigerator with Handles or Recessed Handles?
Comments (25)Let me explain something to those of you not in the know. Appliance manufacturers do just about anything to drive down cost. In order to do that they advertise and attempt to set a new style or trend. Pure marketing BS. Two examples are stainless steel and no handles. It is more expensive to make a painted fridge than stainless fridge. With a stainless fridge the buyer has to deal with endless fingerprints (there is no such thing as fingerprint proof stainless and they scratch if you breath on them). It is more expensive to make a fridge with no handles and market it as sleek rather than market it a PITA. Appliance makers will do anything for your money and will sell you the lowest quality product they can get away with....See Moresheloveslayouts
