Here are some blooms from the past week.

Last Chance for Romance late in the evening after a 97-degree day.

Emperor Butterfly X Great White reblooming

Barbara Barnes - This is supposed to be rose pink, but it looks coral here. It has the green edge. It's either an imposter, or something in the potting soil is causing the color variation. I got this one from Maryott in late June. This is the fourth or fifth flower. I kept waiting for a bloom with the right color, but the coral color is what I've gotten each time.

Here are some from today (Sunday morning).

Lake Tahoe Autumn - This is the ffo from a Maryott plant. I had this one previously, but it died in a pot two winters ago.

Juicy Bubble Butt, looking more true pink today

Baja California, reblooming alone, in the red bed

Tiffany Shade, blooming alone in the backyard island bed.

Seedling SOT X RR 2, reblooming alone today in the seedling bed. The seedling I posted above will be blooming with it in the coming week.

I see other pictures of Barbara Barnes that are coral in color. Last Chance for Romance has attractive evening hues.

Beautiful! Love the hibiscus - what a great color. Your hydrangea brought a smile to my face - I have a willow Nishiki Hakuro standard in a pot. It really has no business there, but I put it in a pot before I found out it is a water guzzler, and I LOVE it on the patio. So, I water it about four times a day, lol. However, it is top-heavy (desperately needs to be potted up a size - or four!) and obviously it dries out very quickly. So the darn thing blows over ALL the time! We have a special name for it - that "expletive" tree, lol, because it seems every time we look out the window it's fallen over. Amazing it's still alive. Once during a thunderstorm I ran out in the pouring rain and jumped into my car, which is parked right next to it. Suddenly I heard a crash, and there's the darn thing leaning against my driver's side window. I had to call my daughter on my cell phone to come out of the house and lift it off the car so I could go to work - she was not pleased, lol. Okay, I guess I'm chatty today too. That is soooo pretty! All of it, and I can't decide which I like the best! I think it's a tie between the Peach Hollyhock/Lychnis combination and the Pot of Nasturtiums and Geraniums. Are you going to be in the Cottage Garden Fall Swap? (I have never had nasturtiums that are that well-behaved before. Become weedy, you say? It looks pretty weedy already! LOL I don't think it's toadflax, though, because i've had that before and the flowers are a lot different. This was supposed to be Chrysopsis villosa 'Golden Aster', but it doesn't look like pictures of that when i googled it. It looks okay now, but i'll rip it out before it goes to seed.

Thanks, everyone! Heavenly Crown is new for me this year. The first bloom was normal, not a poly. In fact, I just planted it this Spring in very fertile soil (used to be a cow pasture). It came from Solaris Farms, here in Wisconsin. They send awesome, huge plants! As far as "toothy", I don't think it was listed that way. I just did a Google search, and no one lists it as having teeth, but one vender described the edges as being "jagged". My main reason for buying it was the color and late season bloom. This is an older cultivar - 1979, and don't know if the term teeth was used back then. In fact, I think I'll ask that question in a new post, because now you've got me thinking - when did "teeth" first come into existence on DLs? Thanks again, Julie

Mantis - I do see a few photos on ATP of Barbara Barnes that look peach or orangey, but not as dark as mine. Other than the petal color, the flowers do look exactly like the Maryott/registration photo. Last Chance for Romance does fade a bit in temps that high, but still looks a lovely pink in the evening. I'm enjoying that one right now since so little else is blooming in the backyard now. I has another scape emerging, so that one may keep blooming until September.

Last Chance For Romance is really great. I agree it's nice to have a pink late bloomer. your seedlings are still looking great.

They all look really good, especially Last Chance For Romance and Tiffany Shade. I am down to a very few re-bloomers, mostly Mary Jane Westbourne's at this time plus Emperor Butterfly. Haven't taken any photos in a few weeks. It is miserably hot. Ready for Fall here.

Edward - Baja California is having a long run of beautiful blooms this year. It's so nice to have it reblooming now.

Sherry - Last Chance for Romance provides some pink color in the garden through most of August and sometimes into September. With temperatures regularly in the high 90s this time of year, I'm glad it's one that still looks good in the evenings.

Kay - It's miserably hot here again too. We had a couple of days of rain this past week that temporarily cooled things down. I thought I might see some rebloom scapes coming after the showers, but no such luck. This is the least rebloom I've ever had. I'm looking forward to a couple of new ones blooming for the first time this week. Try to stay cool this week!

Every time I see Last Chance for Romance it appeals to me more. Both of your seedlings are looking gorgeous. I love the rounded form on Emperor Butterflyx. Is it usually that round for you?.........Off topic, but did you ever grow Trimmer's Parrots of the Caribbean?.........Speaking of the heat, I was complaining of the temperature yesterday to a northern friend - it being 102 - so today it went to 104. Mother Nature likes a good laugh at us..........Maryl

Debra, a few weeks back, you posted a site of yours, its was in a discussion about plant some thing,, markers or a way to find different plants in the garden, you had a bunch of daylilies pictured in it,and you put the link on here and I saved it so I could go back and look some more at it, and now,i cant seem to find it.I have upgraded to windows 10 and lost a few thingts,and that must be one of them. would you please post it again ? jean

Jean - I don't remember that post. But you might be thinking about Plantstep. Google Plantstep and the site should come up.
