Julie, thanks for sharing those beautiful pictures. I really love "Heavenly Crown", I have it in my garden but have never seen it posted here before in anyone's pictures. It was the first daylily I saw with a toothy edge, and I was hooked from then til now on teeth and anything unusual.
How long have you had it and does it bloom well for you?

Beautiful photos - I especially like Priscilla's Dream! You're lucky to still have so many flowers - I only have a few left that are still blooming. Thanks for sharing.

I am trying to think of something that could be started now to guarantee a nice cut flower in two months and I am coming up blank. Hydrangeas or Hybrid tea roses, perhaps? You could buy several plants on sale and nurture them until then. But even then, you can't control for exaact timing of buds, disease, and other factors. Maybe someone else on here will have suggestions. My two cents is this: If flowers for your wedding are of importance, maybe you could order some blooms online and arrange them yourself? I was in a wedding a few years back and the bride did just that and it worked out well. Or you could check out local farmer's markets and let someone else do the growing work for you. Cote d'Or on Labor day! Hi Mike, Thank you! I think we both have late inflos and these should last us through fall. Many more pictures to share until the winter blues kick in haha. Laura, Thank you!! You have lots of beautiful blooms as well! The weather has been unseasonably warm and humid this summer. I think we're very lucky to have so many blooms to share! Fantasia is great! I love the fragrance as well. Also, Robert gave me the gardenia you sent. A big THANK YOU!!! to you! One of the few "gifts" from GW that I will cherish! Hope to see this plant take off! Lynn, Thanks! Edward - Baja California is having a long run of beautiful blooms this year. It's so nice to have it reblooming now. Sherry - Last Chance for Romance provides some pink color in the garden through most of August and sometimes into September. With temperatures regularly in the high 90s this time of year, I'm glad it's one that still looks good in the evenings. Kay - It's miserably hot here again too. We had a couple of days of rain this past week that temporarily cooled things down. I thought I might see some rebloom scapes coming after the showers, but no such luck. This is the least rebloom I've ever had. I'm looking forward to a couple of new ones blooming for the first time this week. Try to stay cool this week! Debra

Well, the plants actually do all the work--I'm already trying to figure out how to give some of them more light next year. It's such a fine line. The light definitely seems to effect the flowering, but a little too much and they don't like it and shut down. And I have a couple of little Trichocereus that I have had for years that absolutely will not bloom for me so next year they are going out with the big guys to see if that helps pop out some buds. It took me years before mine started blooming faithfully and it looks like you are well on your way in a much shorter time. Those Huntington pups are so small that they can take a while, I did have a few exceptions that bloomed when they were very tiny. We can wait until spring, I'll make a note and keep a close eye on the parents through winter. I think the 'Sleeping Beauty' pup is not in the dirt and it only has aerial roots so waiting until spring may not make a difference. I usually like to leave them with the parent so they get bigger. So let me know :-)

Very pretty DLs Julie. The eye on Priscilla's Dream sure is a standout.

My So Lovely, and Fuchsia Dream are also blooming here, and I really like both of them, especially FD. I have Orchid Corsage somewhere, but I don't think I have seen a bloom yet.

Heavenly Crown is new for me this year. The first bloom was normal, not a poly. In fact, I just planted it this Spring in very fertile soil (used to be a cow pasture). It came from Solaris Farms, here in Wisconsin. They send awesome, huge plants! As far as "toothy", I don't think it was listed that way. I just did a Google search, and no one lists it as having teeth, but one vender described the edges as being "jagged". My main reason for buying it was the color and late season bloom. This is an older cultivar - 1979, and don't know if the term teeth was used back then. In fact, I think I'll ask that question in a new post, because now you've got me thinking - when did "teeth" first come into existence on DLs?
