I need TX Rose expert advice...PRONTO!

I am still trying to learn and am now starting to have a love hate with my roses. I NEED HELP!!!!!

I have these roses:

Betty White

Apricot Candy

Intrigue

Tiffany

Sterling Silver

Fiji

The Shepherdess

Blue Rhapsody

2 Don Juan (1 has issues)

2 Knockouts (no problems)

Iceberg Standard

Carefree Wonder

Rouletti (mini)

Cafe Ole (mini)

My biggest issue is fertilizing and watering.

Is it possible to overwater a rose?? I was told by my neighbor that I was overwatering my roses, the reason they turned yellow on me. However, that doesn't seem right. I dug down 5 or 6 inches around my roses, they are bone dry.

Can I use seaweed, kelp, compost, or compost tea in place of fertilizer (liquid or granules)? Fertilizer scares me bc I don't know how to use it, when I do, even sparingly, I seem to get burns. I am losing leaves and they are crinkling up and dying left and right.

All my roses, except the Don Juans and Knockouts are only a few months old. I made a mistake and added fertilizer when I planted them (was told that was bad). However, after all that rain, I'd assume it's washed out and long gone.

Someone, anyone, give me some advice puhlease!
