Thanks, but I really did consider my options, including pegs and hooks. I'm really just looking for information on the relative merits of these choices. (Or if there is something that looks the same that someone feels is better quality for similar money, I'd like to hear about that as well )

Joy, I have the PB Hayden towel bar, etc. I'm guessing the various models are the same quality. I think for the money they're good value. In local shops I was seeing a single towel bar for over $100!! I got chrome finish and am happy with all the items.

I just installed the PB Sussex line in chrome in my remodeled bathroom and it is very good quality. Even my husband, who doesn't tend to notice these things, commented on the quality. I think it is fine to mix and match.

One thing to look at in chrome is the base metal, brass being preferred. PB Mercer is brass and the Top Knobs is zinc.The Mercer bar seems like a good value.

In my GW research, I saw Ginger mentioned several times for their quality. Their products are solid forged brass. I have the 24" double towel bar and 8" hand towel bar. Those puppies are going with me when I move! But I paid $120 for both pieces two years ago--prices are rising on a lot of things since the recession ended. Thank you all for figuring out what I meant, despite all the typos! Oh my goodness. I was rushing off to work and had to make a decision, but proofing would have been good. ;)

I hadn't considered the base metal. With everyone so happy with their PB purchases, and the price difference, I just decided to order the whole thing from them. I didn't make any sacrifices on my kitchen when I did it. I knew it was important to me to get it "right" and paid the extra $100 here and extra $100 there etc to get exactly what I wanted. But I don't feel like when the bathroom is done I'll have the same attachment to it. I got my Bain Ultra tub, so I'll have my luxury. But it's not even the bathroom I use except for bathing. It's my daughters' and guests' bathroom. I mean, it'll be really nice. But I don't need to focus on the teeny details between two towel racks that would look identical to less obsessed people than we are iykwim. I could have found a brass base closer to the Top Knobs look, but really, am I going to notice once we start using it? They are really close.

Of course, I'll post pictures. Walls go up tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be too long now.

Can't wait until this is done and I can move on to the master. It's 42" wide by 108" long with a door at one end and a 34" x32" shower stall at the other, with the toilet right next to the shower. Oh and a large window centered on the wall opposite the wall where the (insult to cabinets even call them cabinets, builders would be embarrassed to use them) cabinets are. That should be fun for everyone thelp me figure out... if we even can.
