Orange tree leaves turning yellow n curling....

Hi...

I brought a grafted plant in flowering stage 3 months back. I live in a hot climate where the temperature reaches 45 degrees celcius. I water the plant every 2 days sufficiently until the water strarts to drain from the pot. I just recently added a 20:20:20 fertilizer and have noticed the leaves started to curl up and turn yellow. All the flowers get pollinated but the fruit either drops out or doesnt grow n turns into mummy fruit...i though that this was sunburn so i moved the pot indoors howerver the problem still persists...guys please help me out...

For one thing the tree has a magnesium deficiency. The symptom for magnesium deficiency shows as a delta (triangle) green shape on the lower center portion of the older leave. Dissolve one teaspoon of magnesium sulfate (Epsom salts) per gallon of WARM water and apply to the tree once every week until the deficiency is eleminated. - Silica

do not ever water on a schedule, always determine soil moisture and only water as needed. three months of every 2 days watering, you could have root rot.

I'm guessing its just a response to the cold soil temperatures we had this winter. When soils are cool, plants (especially citrus) have a hard time pulling nutrients out of the soil. When the weather warms up the symptoms usually dissapear. This is one reason why it isn't beneficial to fertilize in the winter - plant roots are pretty inactive at this time of year and can't process the nutrients. As long as you followed the recommended amounts when applying your fertilizer your tree should be fine. Looks like spider mites; you won't see them without a good magnifying glass. A good wash outside or in the shower will go a long way to getting rid of them. My advice... lose the fertilizer spikes and replace with a good soluble citrus fertilizer applied 3-4 times per year according to the label. Your tree looks to be a little underfed; and unhealthy trees are more susceptible to spider mites. I would also get a good foliar fert. and give your tree an application of that about every 15 days; I like Bayer Bayfolan Forte; lots of container growers here use Foliage Pro... there are others. Your tree looks a bit leggy; I am guessing it gets less light than it would like.

Hi, I have a washington orange tree(dwarf)about 4 feet tall in my backyard and i noticed that half of the branches were dying. It was healthy for a year and all of the sudden this things happened started 2 months ago. Most of the leaves turns yellow and small branches turns to brown. New fruits about 10 mm in size were falling. I watered my tree almost every other day. Applied citrus fertilizer and still not working. How could i keep my tree healthy? Thank you so much.

Jennifer —-(Spraying with Neem Oil and or and other mixtures to eradicate the insects organically could still harm those beneficial insects. Some people will just let those pest stay on the tree because they dont want to harm them. Its a difficlt choice to make for some and you need to understand that some bad infestations that might get out of hand and could cause your trees to become weak and allow other diseses to slowly kill your tree. i always try and let Mother Nature work on the right balance of the pest verses the beneficial insets to keep everything in check. In my opinion, you may have up to three problems at same time.
Too much fertilizer, too much soil moisture and sunburn.

If I were you, I would start again with a porous soil (search for "5-1-1 mix"), don't fertilize and no direct sun for a time. When temperatures reach 35º C, move to a cooler site.
When you see new growth, you can return to a standard fertlizing schedule and sun light.
I recommend starting with half strength of a soluble fertilizer.
