Ok,So... I've learned the concept behind well draining, well aerated soils, (i.e., the "Gritty Mix.")

Through hands on experience, I've found that no matter what the growing medium, there will always be, (not necessarily "perched" water.) some water left in the bottom of the pot.

I found (thought I bookmarked, but for the life of me, can't find it.) a thread where AL talks about using a technique, (which I thought may have been of my own advent.) where you hold the pot tipped diagonally, and use an up and down motion to remove remaining water.

My question is: Is it important to completely remove ALL of this water? Especially in shallow containers.

Or, if the plant is outside in summer heat, will this water be removed soon enough, through evaporation?
