I'll never catch up, but here are some more
Comments (10)Thanks everyone. I'm far enough behind on posting that the asiatic lilies are just about done and the orientals are starting. SPRINGFIELD CLAN is a big impressive flower and a beautiful clear red color. It took a while to get going here, but has been worth the wait. JOAN DERIFIELD has been very impressive. Great bud count and good increase and I love the flower....See MoreBeen Busy.. Lets play Catch up with some picts...
Comments (29)Thanks dmkelly. Even though those Walmart bags are only 50â a piece, it still is expensive when you add it all up with the peat, pine bark, bat guano and all the remaining ferts. I really thought raised garden beds would do well and they do seem better than just in the ground but the Walmart bags out performed my raised beds by far and I used the same soil mix for both. Sorry I haven't grown anything else in the bags but peppers. Everything else I much easier to grow. Peppers are very particular. These bags require much more water and more fertilizing. They are very well drained and will leach out nutrients quickly. Whenever it rained for a long time I would go out there in the rain and fertilize them with a strong solution. Iron fert like you would use for lawns helps and to combat calcium deficiency I use calcium acetate, quick lime mixed with vinegar and allowed to settle....See MoreCatching up from the past few days.
Comments (10)Sounds like you got some nice plants! I'll look forward to seeing pictures next year, I'm not familiar with several of them. Nice blooms too, going for you, I think my favorite is Hot seat though, Wide Awake a close 2nd. Party Pinafore did not bloom its first year in my garden, last year it did bloom, but not great. This summer though it was outstanding, seemed to go on & on....See MoreHere's some catch up
Comments (13)Love Do the Twist, lovely clump of Flutterby. Brave World looks really good too. Isn't it funny how different plants grow just a short distance away. I have never had Brave World be short, I always have planted it with Arkansas Post because I like the way they look together. Brave World is not that far from the same height, maybe 4" shorter....See Moremantis__oh
