Regards not washing/rinsing dishes before using DW...

I hear all about this, including on several threads, that dishes won't clean up properly if you do the preliminaries, should you have a good and modern DW to hand.

Does this count with cheese-laden casseroles, where the upper bit of cheese firmly adheres to the side of the casserole dish? Does this count with baked pork chops in the oven? Or seared whatever on the pan-fried range-top item? Does this depend on the brand of DW you will be using? If any of the above aren't exceptions; what, indeed, are?

I'd love to save the step, but I'm not crossing any fingers!
