Quite a read, but the only thing I see that might apply to my situation is that I have free Zone Alarm as my firewall. It never caused a problem in the past, but I'm wondering if the latest update has something to do with this. By the way, another recent thread referring to firewalls had some interesting information indicating that ZA might not be such a good choice any more. I tried Comodo and found it nagged too much, but I'm thinking of trying the one a poster on that thread recommended. Since I have a firewall via a router, maybe I'll shut down ZA and try the System Restore. I still like having a software firewall on each computer, however.

I just looked at it and it would annoy me also. I use firefox and the 'remove it permanently' extension got rid of it. I don't know if chrome has a similar extension or not. I hope someone can help you.

Lisa, it could be mold as my son did test positive for a mold allergy and not dust or dust mites, but I have tested the humidity and it is staying below the 50% the allergist's office said was needed for mold to grow. I don't smell any moldy or mildew, but I did buy a couple of air purifiers with UV lights to kill any mold that might be here. We replaced all the air filters and are running super allergen ones and keeping the purifiers running. Lots of dusting, vacuuming and wiping down going on too. Has gotten a lot better, but think we will be at it a while to make sure we get rid of it. Whatever it was, I think it came from my dad's storage area in the garage. My dad had boxes of photos and film negatives out there and I brought them into the house because it was 100 degrees outside. My parents had gone through a significant downsizing when they moved into that house and we had already moved some tings out with my mom going into memory care. My dad was not one to hang on to a lot of things. When I staged his house for sale, all I really had to do was move one or two pictures, remove my mom's thimble collection and a few things from her study shelves, put some storage boxes away and then add plants and patio furniture outside. It needed more warming up than paring down, so it was really amazing to see how much had to be packed up and moved out. I didn't have a half ton of scrap metal though. There must be a story there -- as long as it wasn't all empty beer cans. I am still trying to recover from my end of his move and my dad scheduled himself for surgery Thursday. We always miss a few offsets when we move them, but usually don't get motivated to go back for them until they flower 2 or 3 years later. Seem to multiply and grow well left in the ground around here. Reliable booms may be another story. Casual impression is that flowers have been more dependable their first year in a new spot. So, digging and replanting with a dusting of bone meal or other food might be a factor.
