Does it have any of those little helicopters? If so, take a picture. If you rip off a leaf, do you get opaque white sap? I'd guess Norway Maple.

Location helps to narrow it down. I'm near Darwin, so a bit out of my area. It doesn't have that Syzygium look to me. They're usually referred to as Lillypillies down your way. The ones here are called Bush Apples, the fruits get up to about apple size. Let's hope someone can solve the mystery.

Thank you all. It's from Bangalore in India. Although its a tree on our street, it's not one which is commonly planted by the department. I haven't see any other in our area. I have asked someone locally who knows trees, but I haven't heard back. Will try and upload better images. The flowers belong to the tree, for it has grown over our home and the flowers carpet the ground beneath. Thanks!
