Pic taken from my porch across my very busy road. That doe and her 2 fawns cross that road daily causing some real heart stopping moments. They come out of the woods over there, nibble around that apple tree then cross the road into my yard to browse around and check the bird feeder. Then they disappear into the woods behind me.

Can you see all the apples on this Empire tree? They're small and yellow now, but in a few months they'll be big and red. I'm sure some will have dropped between now and then, but it's gonna be a banner apple year. All our apple trees are loaded.

I love Empires and Cortlands. I hope we as well, have a banner apple year Alisande!

Have you divided those day lilies?

Not yet, but sure need to! Too many of one kind there.

Mine look like yours......do you cut the old stocks off now or wait until later? What time of the year do you divide....now or spring?

Now, not spring. They need to settle into their new way of living. They will look horrible for a bit, but you might want to consider sprinkling a bit of bone meal.

I have taken some and put them into 4" pots and sold them for 50 cents at a garage sale. Same with my dwarf iris.
