Okay, I'm back. Sorry, I got sidetracked (well, that used to be my middle name...now it's "Hectic"!). Before I get too far...your plant is GORGEOUS! (Not 'Fred Ives') I said I'd be back to explain there are 2 metallicas. Here goes: In my Echeveria Cultivars book by Schulz and Kapitany, it tells of E. gibbiflora 'Metallica' ~described as purple/grey & a form of the species. It also lists another E. 'Metallica', described as a hybrid of gibbiflora & often mistaken for the other one above. So...you see my confusion? There are no pix in the book of either of these two. But there are pix of E. 'Perle von Nurnberg', which is described as growing to 6 inches (150 mm). It has E. gibbiflora 'Metallica' as one of 'PvN's parent plants. In 2008, I bought 2 (large rosettes-more than 6 in wide) plants like yours that were tagged as E. metallica. I doubted it at the time, as I never see these sold in the trade. I tried researching it at the time, but never figured out definitively, as I just confused myself more (easy to do these days). :P Click for larger, mine in bud & in bloom: I had Echeveria 'Perle von Nurnberg' as well, but they were always much smaller. So, I thought they must be E. metallica. Then, I found others who had very large 'PvN'. So caused me to doubt again. One site, crassulaceae.net, seems fairly accurate in identifications. They have extensive files on many plants. Margrit B. & Jean-Michel M. there, have photos of E. 'Metallica'. From those pix, I'd say your plant is not 'Metallica' they have shown. See link below. But under different growing conditions, plants can take on different looks. Guess we need to keep comparing through the year. But...your plant could be the "other" 'Metallica'! First, since we don't have your general location, it's hard to say what your mid-day sun is like. Some of the damage to the leaves appears to be sunburn. Not sure what the story is as to when you obtained the plant or where it was growing prior to your acquisition. If it was in a store with little or no good sunlight, then you have to acclimate your plant slowly to prevent burning or at least decrease the risk. Now, for the name. This could be as you say, E.pulidonis and because the manner in which it has been grown, it doesn't have the red picote usually seen on this species. As long as the stem is firm, your plant may do just fine and once acclimated to full sun, the rosette will get tight and the color should change nicely.

Emssiee Yes, it is. But it will shrivel a little, as you can see. Np with your English (it isn't my first language either). Sometimes it isn't easy to know exact word to describe what is happening. I make that mistake often too. Here is a close-up of one of my Topsy Turvy. You can see couple of leaves that are almost totally dry; these are old leaves, I usually let hem to fall off or they can be picked off when dry: So if you had leaves in similar conditions, there is no problem with your plant. I can't see any bark spots on the stem of your plant - but am looking only at the photo. That is the reason I ask about leaves being mushy/water logged/soggy. They look different, I do not have appropriate photo. From what is visible, plant is OK, it just needs some more light. Here is same plant as above - more compact/short stems and leaves are close to each other: Succulents will live for a log time unpotted - but sooner than later the leaves will start shrivelling as plant is using water stored in them. Here is a cutting of different succulent that has no been potted at all yet. It is on that tray for more than a month now, it grew lots of fine roots. I just forgot about it...:)So yes, your plant won't die. It could have been thirsty even before you unpotted, and the leaves are shrivelling because of that. If you leave it out, the roots will eventually start drying and die off. If you worry about it, pot it into mix of lots of perlite and some soil. ETA: I found this photo on net: Leaves are very soggy, you can see yellowish color. They could be like that all over, and are soft & will mush up between your fingers. Black in the center is rot - if that happens, the plant is almost certainly gone. This is quite far gone, but did you see something similar in color on your leaves?

I think you need a faster draining soil as your plants seem too wet. Most commonly recommended here is commercial cactus/succulent mix combined 50/50 with perlite or pumice from your nursery (pumice better). If you get perlite, rinse it through a sieve first to filter out tiniest particles. Most commercial succulents do not come in the best soil, they come in soil to hold water and keep them alive until you get them home! They need the fast draining soil as described above. These are succulents.....you know, succulent means "juicy," right? They store water in their leaves and stems so if they have too much water around their roots, they just rot. The first one looks as if it would like a slightly larger pot. Clay or plastic with drainage is good. I cannot comment on the pot size for the second one, but it does look to be potted too low. Is that mold on top of the soil? If you buy pots, clay looks nice, but plastic can be good too because you can tell by lifting the pot how dry it is getting. A little more difficult with clay because of its weight. You will have to be very cautious about overwatering with your high humidity as they won't dry out as fast as in my zone with much lower humidity. They look like nice plants and are savable if you work on them a bit. They look like they have gotten enough light, so do keep that up. All day full sun is probably too much, but morning sun is nice.
