This rainy weather is depressing the heck out of me...
Comments (17)Back to being blue. The weather people in our area were initially forecasting some sunny weather this week. After a sunny 5th of July I thought that maybe we were out of the rain and out of the gray. Well today is suppose to be one of our "sunny" days. You guessed it. I woke up to rain and gray. They've changed the forecast from what it was 2 days ago and now we'll be lucky to get 2 days of sun out of the next 10 days. I just hate this weather!...See MoreTRES are back...not good....cold and rainy weather
Comments (5)It sure is Lisa! It is going to be 60 and sunny here tomorrow! And my blues are finally back at it! I saw the male perched multiple times on one of the boxes of my pair. On the opposite box was a TRES. No fighting! They appear to have their boxes chosen and standing guard! And Mrs. Blue is getting closer and closer to that box! I have HOSP to trap tomorrow (Neighbor's PUMA house and boxes at other trail...80 on sunday! 50's and 60's next week. Is this NOT the PERFECT forecast for nest building?! Seeing the blues so much more active, a beautiful forecast, some things to do, having the TRES...I am SO excited! There's much more to happen in the coming weeks with nest building, hummingbirds returning, trees blooming...it's gray now but full fledged spring is on its way! And I sure can't wait! I just LOVE spring and summer! My boxes are so out in the open though that I've never had Dees...they are nice birds. But I absolutely love those beautiful insect eating Bluebirds, Swallows, and Martins! It reminds you that the battle vs. the HOSP MUST go on! Good luck Lisa! Because the season will get very active very soon!...See MoreRainy weather still
Comments (3)Hi Lisa, no their not peeking out yet I might see them when mama flies up to feed them, I cracked the door they look really healthy a little timid. Its cloudy but they're calling for thunderstorms tomorrow and early showers Friday, I also hope they wait till Fri.,Sat. or Sun. since I'm off work Fri. and Sat. work till noon....I don't want to miss anything I'm sure I'll be crying I've been talking to these birds for several months since they came back I just wanted them to know me and my voice the parents haven't been flying around me anymore since over a week or so I think they know I'm just checking on the kids. LOL...See MoreWill seeds sprout if the weather has been rainy/cloudy?
Comments (5)The seeds know no more about the current weather than a baby in her mother's womb. The soil shelters them from all those variables. As long as the soil drains well, your seed should be coming along a-ok. Nasturtiums usually take about 10 days to come up - they have those hard shells to break through. You can get them to come up a bit faster next time by soaking the seeds overnight before you plant....See Morenat4b
