What brand of gum comes in such containers, am merely curious.

I have that on-the-go plastic box, but I frequently just toss a few into a snack-size resealable plastic bag. Takes up less space!

Several years back I made a travel container for Q-tips from 2 35mm film canisters. I cut the bottom out of one, and pressed it into the opening of the other canister. It will only hold about a dozen Q-tips but that usually is enough for a trip. I still use it to this day

The problem is the container they give you with the to-go Qtips often opens, and the Qtips unwind themselves? Don't know if they unwind themselves because they're jostled a lot in my purse (where I keep it), or if it's because it stays open? The plastic bag works in much the same way for me; once I deplane and take them out, the tend to unwind :(

I like the idea of film canisters and prescription bottles, those sound like they'd stay shut. May have to try that one.

Recently while at a neighbor's, I notice her bathroom Q-tip dispenser. I'll try to find out where she got it -- I think she said a _____ catalog (woman's name).

I use cotton tipped swabs for various projects in addition to around the ear and belly button. But it seems that in the last X number of years the paper stick has become so flexible that it is nearly useless. Any bit of pressure while using one to clean a small area, and it bends and collapses. Does anyone know of another Q-tip like product that is less flimsy? Thanks. Oh, and, for travel, I just put some of them into a small zipper bag with the air expressed.

You can purchase cotton swabs made with wood sticks. Google them -- you can find them on Amazon and other places. CVS pharmacies carry their own "house brand" with wood sticks.

Forgot to say that Hubs and I both use the containers like the photo that mdln posted. Hubs has one in his "bathroom bag," and so do I. Neither of us has ever had a problem with the container coming open.

I have two Qtip containers like the one mdln posted above. They travel all over the world with me, and have never come open.

I use pill bottles. Either something like aspirin or prescription bottles. Or toss a few in a zipper bag. I bought a special container for them for traveling and have it in my bigger grooming kit bag from when I traveled for a living. But it was bigger than needed. A small pill bottle is better. And I usually toss a few Band-Aids in there too for when they're needed. Same container keeps them both organized, clean and easily accessed.

I actually bought a zippered makeup bag,,the kind that has compartments and opens up flat and I use it for every tip. It is always ready to go and filled with all those necessities from larger bottles. Having to pay 14 bucks for 4 Imodium pills on a ship taught me a lesson fast. it has all kinds of compartments and is about the size of a regular bible...It holds a multitude of apothecary items and bandaids and all kinds of goodies, all in miniature size..they are wonderful in the rv or on a cruise..The nice thing is that it opens flat like a book and you can see everything in there in one glance.

What do you all use Q-tips for? I hardly ever use them, although they come in handy to remove mistakes with mascara or nail polish.

Alisande....cleaning ears. I even put baby oil on them and give my ears a nice once over for dry skin....ears are covered in skin....

I purchased a makeup bag for .50cents @ the thrift store with a zippered side pouch...for q-tips I travel with. But all your container suggestions are very creative!
