Acceptable Quartz Countertop Seam???
Comments (25)"The quartz featured in this post looks alot like Zodiaq Calacatta Natura, which can be ordered in book-matched slabs, by asking for sequential slabs when ordering." pinkparadox: Do you have a citation for your information? Since engineered stone isn't cut from blocks, I don't know why sequential slabs would necessarily book-match. The only book matched engineered stone I've ever seen was at a trade show and was Chinese: These four huge natural stone slabs were cut from the same block in sequence, which is why they book-match so spectacularly....See MoreIs this an acceptable quartz countertop seam?
Comments (6)Thanks for the responses. I guess I was comparing it to solid surfaces like Corian which seams are usually not as noticeable. I didn't realize quarts would produce a seam like this. I can live with it....See MoreWould you Accept this Cambria Quartz Countertop Install?
Comments (34)Home Depot doesn't charge for Cambria by the slab but by the square foot. They argue that this saves you money, but it occurred to me that such a policy might also lead a fabricator who didn't have immediate access to a matching slab to take a piece from another slab, one he THOUGHT looked the same to him. It's not a match either because it doesn't come from a matching slab OR the rt. hand one is turned UPSIDE DOWN from the other. There is an interesting post on Viatera Soprano which many of us followed: the customer kept staring at the quartz that she had put on the large backsplash. Something was wrong, Yep: When he cut the slabs for the backsplash, the top and bottom of each piece were opposite of one another....See MoreSeams on kitchen counter - do they look acceptable?
