Great job! Your kitchen reminds me a lot of our redo. Some different hues, but many similarities in finish choices.

The quarzite is a real standout. Truly spectacular selection there.

I also have a Kohler sink/faucet. Looks like we have the same enamel finish, too!

Wow! It's beautiful. Very modern, warm and inviting. The island top is the perfect finishing touch. Did the strainer on top of your sink come with the sink or is it after market?

Carpet has been ripped out in this pic, but before and after with and without carpet ... equally squalid and depressing.

The dog crate was in there temporarily, but even she refused to hang out in this depressing room.

Thanks for kind words, all! GW/Houzz has been such a useful source of information. For some things it was too late, but as I read more "shoulds" I'd check with our plan and see that our KD was doing a pretty good job, even by GW standards.

I knew I forgot something! The lights are Pelham in polished chrome by Hudson Bay Lighting. There are two sizes and these are the smaller of the two.

As a fellow FBQ owner, your counters are gorgeous! It's so interesting to see the variations in this stone. Ours is definitely more gray and more muted overall. Yours has bolder lines and seems more brown. It's just beautiful! The whole look is such an incredible transformation from your old space! You must be thrilled with the outcome!

In addition to forgetting the pendant lights, I think you forgot the pulls... did I miss the info up-thread? What are they?

I absolutely love love LOVE it! I especially am entranced with how the complexity of the stone plays against the simplicity of the sink. And there's nothing better than an offset drain, nothing.

friedajune, thanks, I'd love to take all the credit, but I did work with a KD. I get credit for making the decisions, and sometimes making suggestions, like the walnut island with blue base from the colors in the Fantasy Brown. Anyway, we worked well together.

What a beautiful kitchen! The transformation from before to after appears to be about four decades. The counter and the island, for me, are the highlights.

Ollie, yes, it’s a pull-down spice rack. I bought it at Target.

Can I ask you if the Fantasy Brown countertop has held up all these years? I am considering it, but I heard it was a hard marble, and etches/stains easily. I am replacing granite, and I was considering quartz (since it is indestructible), but I love the look of Fantasy Brown. Is yours honed or leathered, and will that make it less fragile? Thanks in advance!
