Where to hang a framed picture in my MBR ?

I had a mirror above my dresser but removed it. I have a beautiful framed print (horizontal approx. 27" x 20") but not sure if I should center it over the dresser or slide the dresser towards the corner and center the picture between the window (left side of photo) and the corner. This is a smallish bedroom (approx 12.5' x 12.5'). I'm concerned the corner may look too crowded since there's a night stand on each side of the queen bed, though there is enough room to slide the dresser towards the corner.

Advice needed please. (Ignore the clutter on my dresser, that's easy to eliminate). THANK YOU !

I say leave dresser where it is. Center picture from edge of window to corner of wall, Move doodads on dresser closer to the lamp. Then pic will look centered to wall but will also be in symmetry to dresser, with left side having lamp and personals, and right side sort of having the pic.

Hey Petlovermarcie

Hang the frame 4 to 6 inches above the upper
edge of the dresser table.

There is no need to move the table to the
corner. Instead you can move the lamp near the dresser.

You can take idea from the images below.

Thanks, Bellsmom! I wish I could do that myself. I have MBR pics, but they're espresso maple in a dark bathroom. They're also a neat combination of cabs. :) And everyone for the compliments! I'm really happy with how they're coming out. It might take me forever to paint or stain, but in the meanwhile everything's going in them instead of boxes piled against the wall. I actually find the skinny, 4-drawer drawers useless. That's why I originally ordered 3-drawer. My plan, someday, is to do what I did with the (extra) cabinets in my MBR. I took out two drawers and one set of drawer glides. I cut out the face frame and put in a single deep drawer. Like the big ones on the 3-drawer. Then, I attached the drawer fronts back onto the big drawer so it looks just like it started. Deeper drawer are much more functional than 2.5" deep drawers. Now I can put stuff actually in them. With 18" cabinets, the drawers can only be 15" deep. Need all the space I can!

Go to an auto glass or any kind of place that sells mirrors. They have heavy-duty hangers. That's where I buy all my hangers. The long strap kind has two and sometimes three holes for screws. They also have smaller half-circle hangers w/two screw holes. Sometimes I find those at Walmart. You can use an "S" hook w/which to attach your chains. I like things hung w/chains too.

I like the idea of lowering it! And I most certainly like the idea of not cluttering the top. Adding a liner, to me, would make it a little too busy. The chunky lamp on the left helps a lot. Now... to find a chunky simple lamp with a West Indies/British Colonial feel that is not so busy so I won't take away from the roseate spoonbill. Ha! Any ideas would be most appreciated!

To me, hanging curtains ABOVE the window frame means that you have three horizontal lines which are taxing to my eye -- you have the top of the window, the curtain rod and then the ceiling. I prefer my windows to be a unit and so hang my curtains on the window frame itself. Then I just have the window and the ceiling, eliminating that third horizontal line. I know hanging curtains high is in style right now but then so was extra long curtains that puddled on the floor (gathering pet hair and dust). Dare to be different!

I'd switch the dressers since the tall, narrow dresser could be centered on that wall w/o interfering with the bedside table, then put the print over the longer dresser on the other wall, or over the tall dresser on that wall, just a few inches above the top of the dresser.

Center picture over dresser. Switch nightstand lamp with dresser lamp. You need more height on the dresser.

Thank you all,

The night stand lamps sit on the night stands and a matching pair. The wall where the high boy dresser (my husband's dresser) is is not wide enough for my dresser and the TV is mounted above the high dresser so switching dressers isn't doable.

Mimipadv, maybe I need to get a taller lamp for my dresser (or do away with it all together) ?

Yes, a taller, thinner lamp will work nicely.
