Monday! Monday! Blooms So Good To Me.....Every
Comments (26)Thanks Brandy and Judith. Raspberry Ripple was one of my very first set of roses to plant when I moved 7 years ago to this new home. It is very floriferious, never without blooms, disease free and winter hardy. Why I love this rose so much is that I don't make a lot of fuss with it and continues to come back year after year. Bridal Pink and Pretty Lady along with some others are all new for me this year. I am into ordering roses thats not too popular or overly mentioned. Thanks to Beth, she inspired me. Comments (11)Thank you all! I was really surprised when I went out and saw this many blooming today. Butterfly Moon was a total surprise, and the seedlings. I knew the seedlings had buds, but they just did not look like they would bloom for a few more days, no color to them. Paradise City does ok here, blooms all right, increases modestly-which is a good thing to me, less work. Not one I would have crossed I think, but maybe I was not thinking, or a bee did it. I still planted the seed. Maryl, I have been happy with Citrix so far, but I am sure our heat is not like yours. Won't stop me complaining about the heat this summer. Debra, Butterfly Moon has done very well for me, the winter did not affect it at all. I do have it close to the house, maybe a bit more protected? I am very pleased with it, it has multiplied well, I love the blooms, and I think it rebloomed every year. Sometimes the stems seem a little weak to hold the large flowers. Maybe because it is getting a little too much shade....See MoreMonday Blooms from Nashville
Comments (11)You know, you people make it almost impossible to choose a favourite . You keep posting glorious images of perfect daylilies. How is one supposed to choose. there is one that stands out for me just a tad beyond the others but seriously if I had to choose just one to plant in my gardens because It was being given to me , I would be stuck , I dont think I could choose just one . The one that attracts me just that smidgen more than the others is Forsythe Frostbound which is odd because normally I like intense colors ....See MoreMonday's blooms
Comments (8)Bob was happy with these first two. These are their first flowers ever. Princess of Alexandria X (Sea of Cinders X Happy Holidays to You). The Bride of Dracula X (Chomp X Mitch Lynd) Philistine Champion X Small World Fire in the Hole got its blue ribbon today. This small flower was also selected for further evaluation. It is School Bus X Merry Moppet. It looks a lot like School Bus, but it is taller and well budded. This is Burgundy Eye Shadow X Mississippi Memento. This one was supposed to be an intro this year, but I didn't have a photo to do it justice. It has such a velvety overlay that is next to impossible to photograph. This new iphone 11's camera seems to have done the trick. This is a small flower--about 4 inches on a big robust plant. This is one of our favorite seedlings. It won't be registered since it has a low bud count and a fairly puny plant under it. We are crossing it with more robust plants. That's all today. Nancy...See Morenancykvb
