Monday Blooms from Nashville

Core Values, an extra early bloomer, was knocked back hard by winter and just started blooming today as a late. I thought it had lost four of its seven fans, but they eventually all came up.

The lovely Willow Dean Smith had its ffo today.

Velvet Throne, a new one just planted a couple of weeks ago, had its ffo too. It really does look velvety.

How is it I could post this without any problems. but when I tried my seedling post again, it wouldn't upload any photos? The seedling post must be jinxed. Maybe I need some voodoo herbs or a witch doctor to help me.

I think you've done your homework on this lot. I like Ladies Night Out. Nice full form with a thin white edge. I see it's from Richard Norris, along with Ashwood Dark Side and Mary's Baby. Good hybridizer......Frosted Vintage Ruffles is very nice too, along with Picotee Dream. I think between the two I like FVR the best because it's got a more interesting texture to the petals. ....What a nice selection of daylilies. ........Maryl

Core Values is really nice, sounds like it does not really like the cold though.. Really liking First the Frostbound best though.

I really like the looks of VELVET THRONE. It does look velvety. How does it hold up in the sun?

Aha! I see they let you back in!! Just didn't want you to get too uppity thinking you had this under control, I guess! Crazy Houzz....Love these pics. Your Willow Dean always has more pink around the edges than mine. Makes yours much prettier! Armed to the Teeth looks fabulous! These are lovely. Glad Houzz just gave you a short penance.

David - This is just the first bloom on Velvet Throne. I'll have to get back to you later about its sun tolerance.

Nancy - I don't think Core Values is into those zero temps. I'm moving it even closer to the house in case multiple days at or below zero become the norm here. I do like the blooms a lot.

Beautiful! I'm glad Core Values made it for you. It is a beauty. I thought about trying it, but I guess I'd better not if it doesn't like the cold. Armed to the Teeth and Willow Dean Smith are my other favorites.

Lovely group! Glad this post didn’t give you any trouble. Very pretty FFO on Willow Dean Smith. I like the look of Feathered Fingers. Forsyth Frostbound also grabs my attention.

You know, you people make it almost impossible to choose a favourite . You keep posting glorious images of perfect daylilies. How is one supposed to choose. there is one that stands out for me just a tad beyond the others but seriously if I had to choose just one to plant in my gardens because It was being given to me , I would be stuck , I dont think I could choose just one .

The one that attracts me just that smidgen more than the others is Forsythe Frostbound which is odd because normally I like intense colors .

Signet and Lori - Forsyth Frostbound took a weather hit this year. Its scapes were short and the foliage awful. But these were the last two blooms, and I decided to take a picture of it after all. I've always enjoyed its unique look.
