Can I successfully grow blueberries here?

I would like to grow dwarf blueberries as an ornamental shrub and edible berries to have as well. I know they like acidic soil. I pulled the current plants and raked out all the rocks, etc. It is a loamy soil to begin with. I want to do this project next year, so I am amending the soil now. I just added peat moss and plan to mix it in tomorrow. I also got elemental sulfur and cottonseed meal. I was thinking a concern would be that the growing area is bordered by edgers and concrete sidewalk. Will this make a big difference if I am acidifying the soil?

You may not be able to get and keep the soil acid enough for blueberries. Test the acidity, for blueberries you'll need it to be between 4.5 and 5.5.

Before you add anything into the soil test the acidity. If it is already acid, you may be able to get it into the right pH. If it isn't acid, the effort to get it into the right range and keep it in the right range may not be feasible.

Be prepared to wait about 4 years to get fruit from it though, and you don't know what you'll get since they're like apples and don't grow true from seed. Better to buy plants in 1 or 2 gal pots and plant those, or root cuttings from older plants. I purchased and gave my customer service reps AVs for Customer Service week last year. A few took them home but most left at work. To my surprise they have done well and bloom well! The local DMV had a lot of them for years which gave me the idea. They only have the overhead lighting and no lights on the weekend. I have become the plant doc for my two offices. Over watering is the most common problem. Two employees were trying to get them to bloom faster so they used their desk lamp also which burned the leaves. I have 2 extra AVs on my desk now to see if they will like my office which has no natural light and get less light. We'll see what happens!

Yes, just remember that generally speaking, the less sunlight a plant gets, the smaller and less number of blooms the plant may produce. Part shade is a requirement in the southern states like Texas but lucky you.... that you are in a state where paniculatas can be grown in full sun. Pick a spot where you can give the plant anywhere from two hours to full sun. I saw quite a bit of them planted as trees beside houses in MA and NH last October. Indirect sunlight also counts so, some people raise the canopy of trees when planting part shade shrubs. Others make use of sunlight that bounces off walls and off cemented driveways. The specimens that I saw had turned their blooms pink by then but, in pictures, the blooms look awesome going through the color change from white to green and then pinkish. Enjoy your new shrub, Luis

41 is no problem, 113 is at the top edge. Extended heat will require lots of water. Extended 113 I am not sure about. Put your young plants in pots and set them where the afternoon sun is shaded.
