2009 ARS Roses in Review Survey
Comments (12)Karl is right, as usual. We opened the survey up to anyone some time back. There are plenty of non-ARS members who grow roses and can do a good job of evaluating them, so why not get the advantage of their experience? By the way, we also have posted the results for the last several years on the ARS website so anyone can see them. It seems only fair that if we are going to ask non-members to report, they should be able to see the results. When you are using the online survey and you accidently hit the wrong name, you can just go back to the list and pick the right one. The system will remind you that you didn't file a report for the last one, but it will let you move on without it. Decobug, if the list of your reviews show Alan Titchmarsh, but without any ratings for it, we will drop it. If it does show a rating that you don't want, give me your name or email address and we'll delete it....See More2011 Roses in Review Survey
Comments (5)Thanks, Diane. Since a number of the roses are brand new to my garden, I want to watch and see how they do over the summer, so I'll fill mine out in early September....See More2015 in review
Comments (34)Wow!!! These are all just spectacular roses and gardens everyone! It was a sort of ho-hum season for me. The garden took its second hard hit last winter and a lot of things just couldn't bounce back again. My hydrangeas never bloomed at all this year and I lost some other perennials. Roses that had struggled back the first bad winter didn't have it to come back a second one and I was left with many one cane wonders and lots of dead stumps. I dug out a lot of things and replaced them with new so we'll have to wait and see how they come back next spring. There were a few star performers though. My new climber Above All really put on a show all season. I hope it winters well. Crescendo gave me some HUGE beauties! Moonstone was spectacular and is still blooming in November! I am totally enamored with Neil Diamond, although he does spot. It didn't bloom a lot but when it did Secrets Out was gorgeous! Tiffany proved her worth! Now all there is to do is to put them to bed and wait for next year!...See MoreLaundry Reviewed . com Best of 2015
Comments (5)CR are totally driven by those ratings. All the ratings honchos are men -- women are the worker bees. What the ratings honchos say based on the tests they devise is like gospel in that place. They are oriented to price points for mass audiences. So they will downgrade an expensive appliance even if it outperforms another one because the price is higher and -- to them -- the relative value is diminished. Some have a horrible experience with Kenmore. But for what they cost the quality is pretty good. My fancy Viking fridge lived 8 years. The Kenmore side-by-side from 1991 that was originally in the house and now in the garage is still working. The door seals are going but it's hard to fault the quality and longevity for what it cost. I think that's the explanation of why Kenmore usually leads their ratings. They also send out surveys about products. I just responded to one -- one of the categories was my car model. I don't always agree with their ratings but they do have integrity....See MoreKen (N.E.GA.mts) 7a/b
