White dots on Gollum

I have a relatively new small Jade Gollum that appeared to be doing fine. Recently I noticed these small white dots. They come off if I rub them but not easily. Another forum I saw said it's the plant excreting nutrients or something? I can't tell but it doesn't seem to be harming the plant. Also why aren't the tips red the way I see in other photos of this plant?

I think these are just salts being excreted from the stomata...In any case, totally harmless.

I am with Christopher, and especially if you just got it. I think that growers fertilize plants as much as possible to get them growing fast and/or to bloom. I could be wrong, but I have seen it on newly purchased plants quite often.

The TCNA standards; for all grout joints 1/8" and over use sanded grout. For all grout joints 1/8" and under, use non sanded. You can see at 1/8" you have a choice. Where possible we always use sanded grout as it is stronger than non sanded. Have you looked into Fusion Pro (Custom Blend), Plasma (Laticrete), or Flexcolor CQ (Mapei) as a grout? They are virtually stain proof and require no sealing. SUre they will get dirty, but the color will always be perfect.

NOT fair, Kim. You're not allowed to post intriguing and wonderful oddball roses that aren't available anywhere. The "buy from" tab at hmf was greyed out, meaning it's not available elsewhere outside of the US either. Sigh. Yes, you're actually allowed to post these, but now my "unachievable wish list" of roses just gone one rose longer. Don't laugh - it's already 8 pages long, single space! Cynthia

Don’t worry they’re just scars/scabs, and overtime cactus will get what’s called corking as it ages. Usually starting at the base. This type of stuff is totally normal for 🌵.

That might make sense, I think I saw it appearing after I had repotted with fertilizer. Should I expect it to disappear then? Thanks!

The red tips are usually seen on a Red Horn Tree, another variety that's similar in habit to your Gollum.

Usually, the edges of the plant will turn red with more exposure to sun.
