Are Rear Wheels or Front Wheels Self Propel Mowers better as a General Rule to Maneuver? I would say rear related to weight and traction. The Rear Wheel MTD is 21” Cut, 5.5 HP Briggs (a tank of gas per cut). The Front Wheel is Sears Gagle1, 22” Cut, 6.6 HP and Large Rear Wheels. Reverse feel harder to have large back wheels?? (LOL). My 21” Murray, Not Self Propel, 6.5 HP, two cuts per tank of gas, Large Rear wheel will win out as #1 due to a note I just found. The MTD will stay as a proven Back-UP and for Leaves.

The Sears Eagle1 will go because my donating neighbor hit a stump with it once. It smoked bad and vibrated after his inspection. The smoke was from the inspection position and vibration could have been the blade was bent .5 “.

A 3 wheel hard blade edger with a 3 HP Briggs was in the donation also. I feel it will go because I have an Echo SRM with a hard blade on a straight shaft with a wheel. The Monster will make someone happy with Tons of Sidewalks to trim.
