Who Do You Plant For?
Comments (13)Nice photos! The pentas certainly appear to be Most Popular. I cooked a few of those out in my parking strip last year; will have to try them in another spot and see if I can attract more butterflies. This year I've been seeing only one bf in my garden whenever I look. Not the same one each time, but never more than one at a time. Odd. Still, overall I think I'm seeing more this year than last....See MoreBlooms from Sunday and Monday
Comments (16)I'm still dumbfounded that you're in zone 4 and your daylilies are not only already blooming but you've got some lates blooming too. I'm bordering on zone 4b/5a and I am just barely seeing scapes starting on my earliest ones and it is still a wait for blooms. The only ones that have bloomed were confused from late fall planting but established plants are nowhere near their ffo's. Anyway, these are so pretty and my favorite of these is 'Forever Redeemed'. That one is gorgeous!! I have scapes starting on George Jets On and Gilded by Grace, but my Prediction and American Freedom have no scapes showing yet. I also like your purple NO ID. I like the color. Celeste...See MoreMore blooms - Sunday & Monday - from Upstate NY
Comments (15)Jean: I know about hot and humid weather and we are suppose to get back to those dreadful temps/humidity later this week. For now, I'll enjoy the cooler and windy weather we are having now. Easier to get gardening work done. mantis: Glad it helps you. I don't mean to downplay a hybridizers creation but if it doesn't show improvement in 2 years, it has to go where it can flourish better. Even with this seasons up and downs (it could happen again), it's another way to see which cultivar is able to stand the test of our weather patterns. Julia...See MoreFlowers from yesterday (Sunday)
Comments (16)Thanks, everyone! Mantis, I don't have Heartbeat of Heaven and have never seen it in person, so I don't know how El Shaddai compares. Neon Flamingo is definitely not at it's registered height here in my garden... but it's been here less than two years and I have dug into it twice. It does seem to increase pretty well. Debra, I think El Shaddai is much prettier than Emmerich's photos - in the garden and I think in my pictures too. Nancy, I have 4 or 5 different shasta daisies, I like them - and the deer and rabbits don't eat them, which is an important factor here in my yard!...See Moresherrygirl zone5 N il
