Sal, Since figs can ripen rather quickly I would leave the figs alone and take notes. From your post I understand you don't know much about the mother tree. If that is correct I would not remove the figs, at the very least, until the leaves fall off. As a matter of fact there are a few fig varieties that fruit ripens even after the leaves fall off. I know this isn't much help but if you don't know the characteristics of the plant than you will need to learn through trial and error. As you probably know, figs ripen differently given: the variety, environmental factors, maturity of the plant, etc.. So the ripening characteristics and quality of the fruit can change significantly in the years to come. Good Luck Vinnie

Syble...I have to tell you that I think your DH would like CB for their meals. Their food is like 'Home Cooked' meals. Not at all like FF Chainstore..I like that they will add something new each time we go. We started going to them when we traveled South, and I really looked forward to them. Mcmann - I don't know how I did that either. I just named each one after I loaded them on Photobucket. The GKs got a play kitchen for Christmas and DD was making felt food for it. It was so cute and looked like fun so I had to try it. I do most of the sewing by hand but do use the sewing machine some. DSIL says he is the only one in the family allowed to make ribs!!! These are really fun to make and craft felt is only 20 cents a sheet. Add a little stuffing and you've got a meal. (I made my pasta and the cheese for the pizza from flannel b/c it "puddles" better. DD had a fried egg, bacon, ham sandwich, hamburger in a bun with lettuce, tomato, pickle, tea bags, bow tie pasta and ravioli. I wish I had taken a picture of her "food". She was making an eggplant last time I talked to her. I think I might do strawberries next. If you do a search for "felt food" you will get lots of ideas. The link below is for my favorite. I totally get the point vala55. What too many bicyclists and motorcyclists don't get is that right, wrong or otherwise, when they take on a 3000# vehicle, they're likely going to lose. And I think it's time to contact the lawmakers about the bike trailers with kids in them. For one thing you can't have people in a trailer behind a car - for cryin out loud you can't have someone in the back of a pickup! That should be illegal, if it isn't already. I had an incident last summer with a motorcycle with a baby trailer behind it weaving in and out of traffic. After all, cars are supposed to "look out" for motorcycles, right? They don't have to follow the rules of the road. (ARGH!) I'll say it again. I miss winter. I miss the snow and ice now. At least we didn't have too many of these issues to deal with. Spring has sprung and the buffoons have blossomed.
