Fireworks already started here in Morris County NJ...my dog is freaking out :-(

Location: Sammamish WA.

The city has banned fireworks. There is a $1000 fine for the violators.

This is because of dry condition and to reduce the chance of fire .

I'll go to Bellevue park to watch fireworks., tomorrow night.

Cedar Hills, Or. About 7 miles west of Portland.

Currently in Purdy, WA. Fireworks aplenty, it is the prime hour.

Okanogan, WA. 4 hours ENE of Seattle, 3 hours WNW of Spokane. WIll watch fireworks from the "suicide race" hill in Omak.

I think because we have the best weather for tomatoes this year, a lot of places have had too much rain. This appears to be an epic year for tomatoes here in the PNW.

Here in PNW ( west WA) this summer so far we have been having SoCAL like weather, HOT and DRY. June was (have heard) the hottest in record overall, much warmer than normal July and August. And it will continue til 15th of July ;; sunny, warm, no rain.
If do you water your plants well, that should works fine. I do it every 3rd day instead of once a week in the past.

Sey, I have a wading pool in my backyard and there are many honeybees drinking from it. They are stressed also and saw 4 drinking from it just now. I'm kind of a honeybee person. Did you know that a honeybee lifespan is between 28 and 35 days and each bee produces only 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in it's short life. Everyone should put water out for all the wildlife when the temps are this hot for this long of duration. It really helps.

Yeah, Vince. They dehydrate and need water.
I have place several water dishes here and there , for the birds and bees. I get a lot of birds hanging around. I am trying to train them to drink water and avoid my tomatoes in the future. I love birds. They are very smart and shy.

Turns out that according to the newest hardiness zone maps, and contrary to what Houzz, and some seed and plant company zip code finders say, I'm in zone 7a now.

As for the location... East Tennessee. Home to the Grainger County Tomato Festival - and supposedly one of the best areas in the world for growing tasty tomatoes. Meh... probably just promotional hype lol. There are a lot of tomatoes though.

To avoid wasting time, in these cases we go to THIS thread, and find that person location - IF he posted his location here in this thread.

That is a good point. But there is a way to add Zone, State etc in the profile.

New Houzz format allows adding more in the user nrstame.

First enter user name , in First Nam. Second add additional info in Last Name box.

So maybe you can open a thread and have a discussion on having more info in the usere name that shows on the top of each post.

I personally suggest adding Heat Zone or Sunset zone which are more useful when it comes to summer crops gardening . JMO
