Would You Sell A Fishing Cabin Furnished?

DH just got back from a week long fishing trip in Montana. He shares a cabin with his ex (who never uses it) and another couple. They bought it many years ago, remodeled and had it decorated. It's very warm and inviting. 2 bedroom. 2 bath. Cozy, rustic, Montana smack on the Gallatin River. Walk outside and cast your line. It's on a well, has a holding tank and laundry is in the attached garage.

His fishing buddy has Dementia, and it has gotten progressively worse. His buddy's wife accompanied them on this last trip and together they decided to sell the cabin because his buddy can't be trusted alone.

We did a lot of research on Zillow, Trulia, Realtor.com but couldn't find one house for sale like his. There is currently NOTHING on the river for sale comparable to his place. We are going to find a realtor this week who can work with us remotely. Their fishing guide is going to make some recommendations. He lives there and knows the community.

We'll be making a couple trips there to put clothing and fishing gear in storage along with the SUV. He's giving up the cabin, but he's not giving up FISHING!

Are there tax issues selling a house furnished? The furniture is in great shape and hardly used at all. Living in California, it will be a pain to sell it all remotely, and a lot easier to just sell the place furnished. There's a fishing dingy that would convey also.

He's just wondering about tax issues with selling the place furnished. If it's included, does the sale of the furniture factor into the price when the house is sold?
