I joined late but my first week I did some catching up. I still had containers of fall and christmas decorations in the house and I went through several and filled a donation box. One week from today a donation truck will be in my neighborhood so I will be packing more boxes for them.

Well I took 3 bags and 1 box out to the curb today to be picked up, but those had accumulated for a while. Today I am going to find another 15. Not sure what it is going to be, but I am looking at a cabinet in my kitchen that is hard to get in and out of and I think it will be targeted.

I didn't think I would finish this early in the week but at church yesterday they asked for batting for bible school. I knew I had some and if I didn't get it quick I would forget so up the stairs I go and found 2 bags of batting, 4 bottles of acrylic paint which is throw away, a king sized blanket to take to my son, and 8 craft books. If I don't find someone who wants the craft books to Goodwill they go.

It's really not hard if I just make the effort. Week 9 done.

Well I set out 3 pink bags, one clear bag, and a small box with books for the curb pick up. My son was going out to get the mail and the truck stopped back by and dropped off the box with the books. I looked on their website and they list that they accept books. As long as you have a pink bag out, to recognize that stuff is for Amvets, they usually take it all. I think this is so strange!

I am still here but did have a slow week last week. I did get rid of some clothes but am having a hard time getting rid of more so I need a push! I think this week I will work on a junk drawer and maybe some more papers.

Do 18 dead trees count? Had those cut down last week so they didn't fall on the house. (Long story, but they drowned in the flood of 2011 - just took them a few years to give up the ghost entirely). Have a nice big pile of mulch to disperse. And a few logs for firewood.

I did get rid of (sold actually) 2 chain saws to the tree guys. Plus a huge box of books to the neighbor. Plus 8 boxes of old paperwork now shredded and in the compost pile. And another load of old electronics to the recycling center.

I really am keeping up with 9 of 15 - I just don't have much time to post! I know this weekend (which is starting early if this bloody rain ever stops) will be a huge throw it out/put it out weekend. And I'm looking forward to it.

Well the junk drawer is done and I pitched way more than 15 items but of course they are small so not such a big dent. The drawer looks great however, and I did find a couple of things I had been missing so that is great. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Happy 4th to you all.

I sorted through my fabric bins and bagged fabrics to take to a thrift store. I also bagged small pieces of quilt batting to throw away. I checked with the humane society and they don't want pillows for the animals because they tear them up, so I have no other use for the small pieces. I've learned my lesson. I'll just throw away little pieces of batting when trimmed from my projects instead of bagging them to save!

Went through two drawers that were semi organized but I have come to realize I didn't need half the stuff in them. I sorted screws, nails, hangers,tools etc and either tossed them, put them in give away or out in my tool cabinet. Looks so much better.
