rob, I wish we had a place like that around here. I have a few nice dresses I would love to donate to Dress for Success. I probably will end up taking them to Goodwill.

Yesterday, I got busy and got rid of a lot of clutter from my office closet. My office is so clean and comfortable now! It's my room to temporarily stack stuff when someone is coming by for a visit.

10 empty boxes that I'd been keeping for some unknown reason, recycled

my recently departed mother in law's jacket collection, donated

old dog watering bowl for use with the 5 gallon jug, given to a neighbor

I am waiting to see if a neighborhood garage sale will be a go for the first part of June. Not sure if it is fair, but I am probably going to count some of the items that go in the garage sale pile. At the end of the day they will either be sold or donated. I am hoping to get rid of many items. Good luck to everyone. I so appreciate reading all of your posts and the incentive to do this.

If I am getting rid of old t-shirts by making them into 1 rag rug, does that still count. LOL
You post does remind me though that I need to get a my boxes for the yard sale we have planned for a few weeks from now. I still have to price everything and I haven't gotten around to doing a once over in every single room like I had hoped to.

First thing I am getting rid of this week are all the empty wine bottles from my basement landing that have been amassing in a box for a few years. My brother and sister in law bottle their own wine and these are bottles from their wines that they can use again which is why I have been saving them. I have to laugh because out of all those empty bottles the total glasses of wine I have had out of all those bottles may equal to one or two bottles at the most.

I have got rid of my fifteen items. A run to Goodwill with shoes, a bag of plastic hangers, and a leg brace neither my husband or I can remember who used. lol My husband's sister and husband just moved back to this area from Arizona. We dropped in last night while going to our granddaughter's school which is only a block away. They did not know we were coming. There was not one thing out of place. I know they just had a long distance move and got rid of things but not one thing out of place. Clean counters, no shoes or coats, nothing. It gave me a renewed energy for our 15 in 15 in 15. I have been running all over the house today, throwing or storing.

Got rid of the empty wine bottles and then garbage night reluctantly tossed a bunch of Loki's toys. I kept a basket of good ones for any future dog I may have

I am always trying to downsize, and amassed the following
6 pairs of pants a combo of work, dress, and zip of pants
2 pairs of workout/yoga pants
2 sleeveless tops and
2 long sleeve tops
1 pair of socks
1 pair of house shoes that just doesn't work for me... to high, and give me leg pain when wearing while washing dishes
2 napkins I just don't like their fabric at all.
15 items ready for the goodwill store

Hah! I thought this was about losing 15 POUNDS in 15 weeks, so I didn't open it until today. Silly me!

I could certainly lose 15 pounds AND 15 items, but …welll, never mind. Have fun! I'll think of you!

I got rid of 61 things today. I've been cleaning out the garage and sold 50 softballs and 10 baseballs and made $48.00 and sold a scooter for $10.00. I put items on a resale group on facebook and then meet people at Walgreens.

I'm just seeing this thread now, but I've got a couple hours to midnight. I'm game to go find 15 things to donate, even though I brought a lot in from Target, the pet store, and even talked my husband in to keeping some equipment today. *sheepish grin*

I did pretty well.

1 old desk, two end tables and a bookcase are waiting for DH's son to come and see if he wants them. But they are cleaned up and stacked by the door, so they are ready to go out one way or another!

I cleaned out Office Cabinet #3. 18 rolls of architectural prints from jobs we did years ago. They are in the shed waiting for a post-rain day for a bonfire. It was tad too dry and windy.

I cleaned and re-organized the pantry. I actually didn't throw much away (we were pretty good about using up older food), but I can find stuff now! Like a 15 lb. bag of rice that I forgot about. And three liters of red wine vinegar. Guess I couldn't find the first two, so I bought another one. It doesn't go bad and I use a lot on summer salads.

3 ancient wooden folding chairs that collapse if you look at them are in the "waiting for bonfire day" pile.

One set of dishes is washed and boxed up. That is going to DH's granddaughter, so she will have her great-grandmother's china.

One huge box of paperbacks. A neighbor who volunteers at the library saw them and took the whole box.

Two huge contractor-size bags of junk went in the garbage. This week is recycle week! So there's two cans waiting for them. A bunch of old glass jars mostly. I used to use them for dry goods in the pantry, but I've started using canning jars instead. They look prettier on the pantry shelves, and I have cases of those, too. Might as well store the canning jars full rather than empty.

Malna, I use old canning jars for my dry goods too. They look fantastic. We also made a kitchen light using some of the blue and green tinted ones. I love it.

I have been working on the yard the whole week and have burned several of the old wooden planters that are fallen to pieces. They are everywhere here, came with the house.

I am still working on old t-shirts and making it into a crochet rug, it's working out well. I try and get a little done every evening before I fall asleep.

I still haven't priced my yard sale items yet but it is on my short list.

I got rid of an unneeded office chair, 12 coffee mugs and some old jackets. Well, they're in the car anyway, just need to drop them at Goodwill on my way home from the office.

I got rid of a baby swing the granddaughters have outgrown, some clothes, kitchen items etc. It looks like the garage sale is a go for the 2nd week in June to am piling up items for that. I have to say that now every time I open a closet or a drawer etc I look for things to toss/sell. This is a good project. Thank you!

Oh - I also read the book that Suzieque mentioned. It was very interesting.

blfenton -- Not sure how you get rid of family, but you could 'weed' your friends.

One kind of a generator thing that is supposed to give power in an emergency, but won't take a charge now. Sent it to the curb. Many empty boxes of various sorts. Several bits of electronic items that don't work.. mice for instance. Moved an old monitor and a partially working scanner/printer into the garage till I have nerve enough to ditch them. Several floppy disks that I can't use anymore. Some instruction books for items that have gone to item heaven already. I can now walk into the computer room without falling on my own feet. Also straightened out the tangle of computer cords and shortened some of them. Last week I threw out some old lingerie that had seen its best days. Can't wait to start on the next 15. Thanks for the nudge.

I did my 15 - a variety of stuff. Clothes, shoes, scarves, books, videos, odds and ends. Some things like the videos I counted as one item, others I counted separately. Most things went to Good Will, a couple of things were thrown away.
