Cameron, I would love to see layout of your gardens
Comments (17)Thanks Cameron, before we dozed the back yard away from the house, that ground came up on the house about a foot, and was rotting some of the wood siding. As you can tell, we dozed the area about 60 feet long, down about 5-6 ft deep, and terraced the wall. it made this area usable, as before it was all fairly steep slope. All of these stones were layed by my husband. I think he said they weighed about 80 lb each. We really didnt have a problem with run off tho. The yard at the upper wall is about 150 feet wide, narrowing to about 100 feet wide at the far back. Your place looks beautiful Cameron. The Thyme walk sounds interesting. I would love to see a photo if anyone finds it. tammy...See MoreWould love to see your rose garden pictures
Comments (58)BIZKIT - You truly have some gorgeous roses, you've done a wonderful job with the layout and your roses all look so pretty together, I love all that color. You need to start your own thread, so more people will check them out. All your hard work needs to be seen and enjoyed! Would also love to know what some of your varieties are, because they look so good together....See MoreWould love to see your vines?
Comments (10)It is a bunch of Rhipsalis. There are 3 species, one you can't tell is there (Hatiora salicornioides), one that goes down about to the railing (I forget the name), and the long one which drags on the ground and gets pruned when the mower goes by. It makes small whitish fruit that a Baltimore Oriole stripped off while I sat stock still so she wouldn't fly off. The next day a hummingbird came and picked off spiders that see the multiple thin stems and decide to set up housekeeping. Hard to have anything nice with neighbors like Orioles and Hummingbirds! :) This is an overexposed photo of the top of it last winter in the g-house. You can see the other species. Here is a link that might be useful:...See More*Lucy0214, I would love to see pics of your windows, please!
Comments (6)Lucy0214 - I am tickled pink that someone is building the Vida de la Confianza! That is our plan too! BUT, we had an architect change a lot of things, so it's not exactly the same as the stock plan anymore. Do you have a build blog? I would love to see more pics of your house. I know I've searched all over the internet, but never found ONE real life picture of it (until I saw yours)! They just set our basement walls on Monday, so we should be rolling along soon with everything else. I'm excited to share some photos on this blog as things progress :) Are you putting railings on the front porch? ~Stephanie...See MoreDavidL.ca
