So called 'body bag roses'
Comments (60)Gardening Teenager - congratulations on your rose interest! I learned to love growing things in 1973 when my mother was ill and couldnt care for her plants. Still have the first gardening book I bought. I went from house plants [thought I had to have every one in existence!] then ordered 6 roses from Jackson Perkins and have been hooked ever since [I will be 74 next week]. My addiction now includes daylilies. This is a hobby that you will enjoy all of your life - with me, the addiction just gets worse - the beauty of the plants enchants and the joy of working in the garden brings peace and serenity that is a solace in times of trouble and an all consuming interest that takes up any free time. I just got 9 roses in the mail from Roses Unlimited and am so excited to plant them and watch them grow! Oh and congrats on your body bags - I have them too. The roses of years ago are still here because of a reason. I have many of them and love them as much as the newer ones. Who cant marvel at the huge blooms of First Prize, the perfume of Mr. Lincoln and so many others? Hope to see more photos of your beauties. Judith...See MoreSo I had a FEW more than I thought
Comments (5)Kay. I didn't do nothing in the beds today.I could barely stand up,and move just a little, so I stayed in the recliner almost the entire day.Everytime I moved a little,I was hurting everywhere, but, then about 5 this evening,I decided to go out and just look at the daylilies to see if just possibleI would see a scape making up, but, nope, no such thing, yet, but, I pulled my litthe garden scooter out on the sidewalk and sat on it and pulled weeds out of some of the pots, and jerked dead, brown leaves off them, to make them look better.I should have thought and brought my osmocote out and put a little in each pot, but, never thought about it, till just about 15 minutes ago.only thing I seen new was about a dozen lily bulbs had sprouted and popped up.I even found one where I know I didn't plant one there. My entire body just seemed to be in spasms today, but, mostly in my back.Tomorrow is suppose to be bad storms with a possibility of tornado's.I sure hope no tornados. jean...See MoreStrange body odor?
Comments (9)Try soaking bedding & his clothes in 1 cup vinegar for couple of hours before adding soap & washing them, it helps get rid of "old folks" smell.GF bought lots of bags of old T shirts from TS that had them for 99 cents a bag in all colors- she didn't figure on the smell tho, when she opened them up & washed them. I think she used vinegar followed by another rinse of soda, Borax washing soda would work also- she needed the colors to stay as she cut them in strips & made a lovely rug from the pieces. Be sure he actually washes his hair well, can use some vinegar on it & rinse off. We used that after a friend's sister came out of mental institution & I don't know when they had last washed her hair!(She had been working with social services helping abused kids & ended up using her whole paycheck to buy kids stuff they needed) Could be meds, a disease, or maybe even lotion or something that is not "mixing" with his chemistry....See MoreSo you thought you saw it all
Comments (25)Yes. That truck's switch is at the back of the master cylinder connected to a T fitting under the vehicle. Bad idea. It was subject to road damage, ice, water, and half the time the plactic top where the wires connect would crack and leak. Brake lights would usually stay on because the fuild was on both sides of the diaphragm. My 53 chev had the same setup. Hard to put a switch on the peddle when it comes up from the floor. Haven't looked at the truck but my chev had a momentary spring loaded switch bolted to the transmission case. A 2 inch lever was pushed back by the shift linkage as it was put into reverse for the backup lights. Was looking at the manual for my truck and it had optional air brakes or vacumm boost. Brakes on this thing are standard. Good thing, i guess. Got a phone call this morning. No idea who this guy is or how he got my number but he offered me $2000.00 for my truck. Thought about it. NOT. I haven't heard it run on all 8 and haven't even taken it for a hoot down the road. I'm starting to like that old girl. It's a good looking truck. give you an idea of how long it sat. I found a 1 inch round 6 foot tall poplar growing out of the moss on the wooden box where it connects to the deck. Been snowing now for 48 hours so have to cut more wood. Mind you it seems to warm up when it snows. It's only -13C. pretty nice outside. The old lady wants butter tarts and short bread for christmas so i'll guess i'll get at it and keep her happy. She comes home friday night....See Morelarsi_gw
