Miss Kims in back didn't flower, though the ones in front did

As the subject suggests, I have three very bushy Miss Kim lilacs in the front, and they at least had buds (though the buds seemed to shrivel and are dead now, but that's another post). The ones in back didn't bloom at all. They get less sun than the ones in the front - could that be it? Should I prune the non-flowering ones now to encourage new growth? Is there some kind of fertilizer I should be giving these non-blooming Miss Kims?

Thanks!
