What's the Difference? Pacific sea salt v regular salt
Comments (11)btw I know there is a difference when measuring kosher, sea, and coarsely cut salt vs table salt. Appears the general rule of thumb is 2:1 coarse:table. Anyone have a breakdown on the difference? I'll go check and report back. But real life experience often trumps reference so... wow found a very informative salt site with great info http://www.foodsubs.com/Salt.html...See MoreIodized table salt verses sea salt
Comments (15)I cook with Kosher salt and high-mineral Celtic sea salt. I've used sea salt for over 30 years - I didn't like the taste of iodized table salt. I also add kelp to my garden and toss it into things I bake/cook. I use other kinds of seaweed, like Nori, for the added minerals. I learned this stuff when I tried Macrobiotics years ago. As far as Campbells Soup goes, it's all about perception...and marketing. It's just like all the so-called "organic" stuff that is everywhere now - not just the health food store anymore. The food industry thought they should get in on that market share - not just the three of us "health nuts" already buying from the food coops and health food stores. -Grainlady...See MoreHelp! Sea Salt looks blue!
Comments (9)I wouldn't necessarily trust what you're seeing right now... You're seeing the Sea Salt in comparison to the Kilim Beige, which is skewing the color. The yellow/warmth of the beige is making the Sea Salt look bluer than it is. If you can, tape up a large white sheet or white butcher paper, then paint your swatches of Sea Salt on that. If it's not feasible to do that, just go for it, and paint the room Sea Salt. The great thing about paint is that it's easy to change!...See MoreConvert traditional formal living room to updated home office
Comments (23)Is there enough room behind the sofa for a very narrow console table? It could hold a lamp (or two) instead of using any end tables. I could imagine myself sitting sideways on the sofa facing the fireplace and using the table for my coffee cup while I talked on the phone. There is something about the drapes that bothers me. They are beautiful and a lovely color but seem to block the beautiful window. Could you have all the panels at the two ends instead having four groups? I, too, have struggled with a backdrop for ZOOM calls. Remember that on Zoom you see only what is directly behind the person and a couple feet to each side, not the whole wall. So only a few feet of the bottom any large panels would show. You may have to make a trade off on what looks good in the room versus what looks good on ZOOM. For my ZOOM calls, I ended up not using my desk. I took an unused corner of another room and put an old laptop on a small table to make a ZOOM “studio.” I put a console table behind my chair with a large Grecian bust and a small topiary plant over one shoulder and a tall pair of brass candle sticks with two small family photos over the other. The wall directly behind me is blank and coincidently is painted a color that contrasts with my coloring, which also looks better on ZOOM....See More- 11 years ago
