Bird netting potted blueberries
Comments (7)If you're like me and hate hate hate bird netting, you might want to try tulle fabric. It's inexpensive, very light, and excludes all but the smallest insects (as well as birds). It's not as durable, though, so you have to handle it with a bit more care. As for the repotting question, if you're merely transplanting and not excessively disturbing the roots, you could probably get away with repotting any time of year. Ideally, though, you'd go a step beyond and completely refresh the potting mix (i.e. bare root the plant), and that's best done in late winter/early spring before it emerges from dormancy....See Moreelectrical-supply.net experiences?
Comments (1)You can buy the equivalent product at the box stores for $0.39, but they aren't built as well, wire as easy or last as long as the spec grade products. Bottom line is I don't them in my house. My $0.02, for what it's worth....See MoreNet pots
Comments (0)wdelaney: Net pots function to support the plant. Willard3: The depth the net pot is submerged in nutrient depends on the system. When placing pots in a bubbler system in which roots are submerged, they should sit of their depth in water. In an aeroponics system, net pots never sit in water; water is sprayed on pots with an emitter. Suggestions for net pots are: Mycarbumps: Small fish nets. Tailwheel: Buy a package of small plastic cups and burn holes in them using a soldering iron. Mhayek: Devise a collar: after cutting holes with a hole saw in a plastic tub, pieces of packing foam are cut into round pieces to fill the holes. They are cut with a slit from one side into the middle. Then take a cutting of a plant, slip into the slit, and put it into the hole with about 1 inch below the water....See Moreround pvc hole size and net pot size/medium/light prevention
Comments (1)I picked a hole saw slightly smaller than the top of the net cup. My net cups stick up about a 1/4" unless I force them in. No problems with light. Are you circulating your water from a res ? I circulate my water and add air lines into the water in the PVC. I use perlite or hydroton.
