Do you have a MAC? It is virtually automatic in Iphoto, including preselected music choices if you are uncertain about how to add music

If you scan or upload the photos to Picasa it's easy to make the album into a slide show and create CDs.

I have a new Surface Pro. So, not only has it been about a decade since I've made a slideshow, but I'm also working on a new machine. I've been playing around with powerpoint, but it seems very cumbersome and the outcome is very plain. I no longer remember any shortcuts.

I think DH has an ipad for work. Should that have iPhoto? The teacher emailed me over 100 images to work with.

I'm feeling overwhelmed, and I'm frustrated that this task that was simple for me in the past is now difficult!

Maddielee - I'll look at Picasa too. I do not have the ability to burn, so I'm curious if I can share the slideshow with the teacher, so she can burn as many discs as she needs. She knew ahead of time that I don't have a burner. I'm trying to help her... I don't want my "help" to make things more difficult for her.

daisychain01 - I agree completely. In fact, I won't be able to view the CD since I no longer have a drive. I plan to talk to the teacher to see if she has an email address for each student (parent) so a link can be sent. I assume everyone has email, but you never know. (I don't have a facebook account and I'm the odd-ball!)

After you use picasa to make the slideshow, u can upload to YouTube and send the link to the parents

A teacher I work with used an app called flipogram to make a cute slide show set to music for her class this year. Not sure how easy it is to use since I am refusing to try it!

I created a show in Picasa last night. I'm not thrilled with the final product but it looks pretty good. In past years (my older son) the slideshows had animation, which I liked in moderation. I didn't see how to do it in Picasa (honestly, I didn't look very hard). I have music added too.

I saw that it can be shared on YouTube, but I know there will be reservations on posting so publicly (the school name and student named are shown). I saw the option to share via a link, but I was too tired last night and called it quits before I could try it. That may be the way to go!

Should we throw a graduation party for you? Per the other thread those are popular for every conceivable milestone. What are your house (school) colors for the cap and gown?

For YouTube, You can make the link private so only those you send The link to can view it.

Also you can upload to your picasa web and those who you send link to can view the album but I don't know if it will display as slideshow or just pictures. Just some suggestions.

If you burn to CD you can watch the slideshow on a big screen TV using a blue ray player, a game console, or your old tech CD player. They read jpegs just fine. No need for a computer drive. And photos viewed on HDTV screens are beautiful -- big impact. Great way to show your travel pics.

I'd burn the jpeg files as data files, though. That keeps them as just a collection of jpeg files that any app or device can file through as a slide show, and most likely will do so in the future.
