Remember several years ago when there was a huge writers strike? I'm pretty sure that's when the broken up and short seasons started. Used to be fall to spring with maybe a Christmas break.. then after the writers strike there was short seasons, or fall season/spring season, and whathaveyou. And a handful of summer seasons when that used to be all the reruns because folks were out enjoying the summer and writers could take a break before fall season started again. Though the Librarians mention made me think of Falling Skies.. So they come out with it in 2011, have a season, then were like, yep, see you in a year from now! Like huh? You only had 8 or so episodes, I'm supposed to remember to start watching your show again a year from now?

Yes, the doctor's wife really is beautiful. Of course make-up does a lot, but she has a stunning face, lovely features, peaches and cream complexion, and a very sweet way about her. They are the most likable pair. If I recall correctly, George is not from royalty. His family did not come from money, so he feels inferior yet has the power to make others miserable and so he does. I forget how he came to be in the fancy manor.

Looks like these were the last episodes. They left a lot hanging: Sad news, Last Tango in Halifax fans: Derek Jacobi has confirmed that last year’s Christmas two-parter is the last we will see of the show, as writer Sally Wainwright has no plans to revisit the series in the future. When asked by RadioTimes.com if the show is returning, Jacobi replied: “No, I’m afraid it’s not.” “We did a Christmas special last Christmas, which we thought was the beginning of another series, but no,” he said.

For me, the absolute champion, never-to-be-surpassed series is Game of Thrones. Great acting, great writing, intriguing plots, and beautiful locations. True, it is very violent, so I - hating "blood 'n guts" - spent a fair amount of time peeking between my fingers with squinted eyes. That said, it is epic, a story of human foibles and weaknesses and occasional courage. If you can cope with limbs being lopped off, of everything that could go wrong being shown on screen, and if you can follow the convoluted plot and myriad characters - I recommend it. imo there's nothing else like it. The dragons! DH and I also loved Mad Men. We came to it toward the end of its run, so there was a lot of binge-watching to catch up. It would have been my favorite but for GOT. We've watched many of the above-mentioned shows, especially enjoying Foyle's War.
