Comments (9)Its only my second time there in 20-some years. My wife's family used to go there every summer for the month of August, and shortly after we started dating her family had a large reunion trip to the island. It happened to be the first time I met any of her family, and there sure were a lot of them. That trip (which was in August, years ago) the weather was mostly good, this trip the weather was cold, windy and rainy. So by my scientific sampling the weather is rotten about 50% of the time. Comments (11)These gentlemen on the island of Madeira were playing some game of cards where they would lunge forward and throw their card down in an attempt to play before someone else. It was the only time I've seen a card game that would qualify as aerobic exercise. They were hanging out killing time waiting to take tourists for a ride in a sled down the steep streets of the town. Comments (10)Gazania, I didn't know anything about Richard Teague before you just told us, but I looked him up and he was an extraordinary guy! So interesting and a subject I know absolutely nothing about. It's funny how something like a car, an everyday item, could have such an interesting and crazy kind of existence. I don't think I will look at another car in the same way ever again. Of course I knew people designed cars, but I never knew what all went into that process. Fascinating.
