Do any of you guys ever post in the name that rose forum?
Comments (8)I posted in that forum and got several answers, one of which was spot-on. I guess it helps to give as much info as you can about the rose. In my case, I was pretty sure it began with an "S" (the marker was still there but had faded to almost nothing) and it was bought from J&P in the last 10 years. That helped me make a positive ID after I read the suggestions and looked at the pictures on HMF. My own picture wasn't even all that great (a fully opened bloom, beginning to fade) but it still was enough....See MoreAny Other Local Garden Forum More Active?
Comments (17)If you're having early frosts, with warmer weather probably returning (as it is for us here in Monmouth County), try protecting your crops. A non-woven frost barrier is best (I have one that protects down to 27F), and will serve also to provide temporary shade to new transplants or a barrier against some pest insects, and is reusable. I've not seen them in any local garden centers, so had to order online. Last year saw several rolls in, of all places, a Tuesday Morning ... for $3.00/roll!!! I should have grabbed them all. Lacking the frost barrier, a sheet, lightweight blanket, or even light tarp will suffice. It's hard enough to call it quits at the end of the season, harder still if you know there may wall be another 2-4 weeks of good weather on the way. If you haven't already done so, now is the time to remove any flowers, as they'll never develop into fruit, so best let the plant put all its resources into those fruits already set and with a chance to make it to maturity before the frost gets them....See MoreIs there any remedy when someone post a long URL on these forums?
Comments (4)This isn't a real fix but it may help... I'm not sure if it'll work for everyone but it works with Windows and Internet Explorer when a post or reply is too wide for the screen... Over to the side of the screen, in a blank space, press on the wheel of your scroll mouse and a circle with 4 arrows will appear... When you move your mouse to the left, right, up or down the page will scroll in that direction... The farther you move from the circle the faster it will scroll... To stop just click one of the buttons... It also comes in handy when there's a really long post... Just start it scrolling, at a comfortable reading speed, take your hand off the mouse and sit back and read... lol Rita...See MoreWill Some of You Please Post a Reply on the Grieving Forum?
