Ikea new kitchen fronts

Hi all!

Recently voyaged to an IKEA and thought I'd report back on some of the new fronts under the Sektion system. I will be adding photos very slowly from my phone.

First - what looks exactly the same to me:

  • Bjorket = Orsa shaker birch
  • Bodbyn grey and white = Lidingo grey and white
  • Edserum = Rockhammar
  • Grimslov medium brown and off-white = Adel brown and white
  • Brokhult = Sofielund driftwood look
  • Filipstad = Lixtorp oak
  • Laxarby = Ramsjo blackbrown (there is no white)
  • Ringhult = Abstrakt white and grey
  • Jarsta (bright marigold) goes with Ringhult
  • Vedinge = Applad
  • Fladie (bright green) goes with Vedinge
  • Tingsryd = Gnosjo (with an, IMO, unattractive black glass door to match)

New:

Rasdal - this is why I went to IKEA. It is a white ash veneer slab door. The grain is fairly visible. It is not pinkish. It is not yellowish. It is a cool white. It is hott.

The glass door on the Rasdal is very plain. This is a good thing.

Here it is in comparison to the box so you can see it is a pretty neutral white.

Ekestad - this is also very hott. Black-brown oak veneer with a solid oak edge. This would look very nice in a two tone kitchen with Rasdal despite the different edge detail. Yes, the edge looks hard to keep dusted. You must suffer for beauty.

Check out the edge detail:

Hittarp off white:

This is a much more satisfying beadboard than Stat IMO. It's essentially almost a slab door with a beadboard detail. The coverpanels are also beadboard which is new.

Here it is with a more decorative molding.

Ringhult and Jarsta
