My two cents on IKEA wardrobes: In your concern about width, don't overlook the height! We bought two of these for our apartment in Switzerland. The height of our room was greater than the height of the wardrobes but we failed to take into account the assembly of the units. After they were built on their backs on the floor, they were too tall (in the hypotenuse) to tilt up to standing. The store assemblers were great (since we bought an entire 3-bedroom apartment full of furniture in one swipe.) They told me which units WOULD fit, dismantled the PAX units, returned them and brought them back the next day. I don't remember the name of the shorter units, but thank goodness they were available. Like you, there were no bedroom closets in this brand new apartment.

I don't know anything about the Pax line but we just finished installing cabinets and lockers from the Akurum line. The cabinets are heavy, hinges are well made, and the drawers and doors have self/soft closing hardware. My only complaint is that the backing they have for all the cabinets and lockers were made of a 1/8" piece of melamine coated press-board. The site gives details of the material used in each product but I believe the majority are a mix of solid wood (doors/drawer fronts) and melamine covered particleboard. Since you're making a long drive be sure you have a list of 'everything' you need and double check it when you check out. If you're buying any shelves, doors, or drawer fronts I strongly suggest you open the box and make sure it's the right color. We've had to make several returns when parts were missing or the box was marked one color and it was another! Also double check sizes when you receive your order. The Kohler Whitehaven comes in a short apron and tall apron size - one of them would probably fit. The apron on the Whitehaven is self facing so your contractor does not need to make the perfect cut required of most farm sinks. It is also made of durable cast iron. I have one and love it. The Kohler Vault is stainless steel and also comes in a short apron and long apron style. Both come single bowl or uneven divide. I have the 36" Whitehaven in my 36" sink base cabinet. The sink is a bit under 36". It does come smaller. The Ikea Domsjo apron front sink does not have as tall an apron as most farm sinks - why you should check out the shorter apron styles in case your cabinet doors are too high for a standard farm sink. That is one thing you need to check on.

I'm just going to say this in case - the wide Domsjö is two bowl sink. It never came any other way. Sektion has standard sized drawer fronts. Buy an extra 36" wide taller drawer front just in case you need it - you can always send it back. Sektion and Akrum cabinets had different sizes of drawer fronts. Stop by the kitchen area and ask about issues with installing the Domsjö sink in a Sektion cabinet. The Domsjö should come with replacement metal bar for the front & bar edges. The front metal bar takes the place of the top bar on the front and the back. You might need to cut down the back panel to fit under the bar. We did a simple reinforcement of the cabinet by adding plywood across the back on the inside of the cabinet under the bar and then attached the official cabinet back to the ply. Given a choice, I would buy ANY other white farmhouse sink and undermount kit. Eventho it's hundreds more. In our case, the sink wasn't quite deep enough - there was a wide gap between the sink and the wall in the back that was plugged with two tons of caulk. In the end, I named the sink the Rain of Terror because it dripped water everywhere and rotted the Ikea wood counter. If you use someone else's sink in an ikea cabinet, know that you may need to cut the cabinet top back as shown in @sh's photo because a 36" wide undermount sink is 36" wide at the front or near to it. The sink maker has an undermount kit (usually) that amounts to metal bars with screws under the sink. The bars stretch across the cabinet from side to side. Then, use your "extra" drawer front and carefully cut it to fit the front.
