How are your Ikea kitchen cabinet fronts holding up?

I am designing an Ikea kitchen and would like advice from people who have had Ikea cabinet fronts for at least several years. I had planned on using the Lerhyttan light gray, which are lacquered solid birch and birch veneer. The color is temporarily discontinued, but probably will be back soon enough for me to use it. I am having some doubts about the color though so have begun considering other materials.

I was told today at Ikea that a new pure matte white shaker style front will be available in the next couple months. I believe it'll be melamine foil (like Voxtorp), but might also be painted finish (like Bodbyn).

A friend of mine has an Ikea kitchen with white melamine fronts that's about 10 years old and some of her melamine is peeling from heat or water exposure. I would love to hear how people's cabinet fronts are holding up. If you respond, please tell me how old your kitchen is, name of your fronts, and the material your fronts are made of.

Thanks in advance.
