I don't waste my time on such TV fare.

I think we have enough tension and stress in real life without getting spoon fed more of it through shows that pit diametrically opposite families against each other.

I've seen it. Not with the celebrities. Ordinary people. I wouldn't put it on on purpose. While I'll watch a cop mystery, I will not put on the dramas that deal with extremes like SVU or Criminal Minds, and I don't do horror, so I would say that Wife Swap is better for my ears than those (junk TV is only on when I'm in the middle of doing something else, so I mostly listen. I find it less distracting than music). The problem with these kinds of shows is that the producers are so busy goosing up the drama that they ignore the more interesting reality that might be underneath, and they have a formula that constrains the people to do certain things rather than setting up a situation and seeing how it plays out. So instead of "unscripted", which is what they're officially called, you get poorly scripted and badly acted.

I don't watch. A lot of folks are making good money out of stuff like this, it is proof that there is still plenty of opportunity if you can stoop to new lows.

I suppose everyone has a price. I wonder what mine is.

These shows are just like Dr. Phil, Judge Judy and others. Air your dirty laundry in public and get paid.

I watched it some, not often. It's the same script recycled over and over. There was another one on called Trading Spouses that was a carbon copy.

I happened to tune that one in tho. Nothing else on and I wanted to have something bore me to fall asleep and I thought it would be good for that. I only got interested because I saw Mini-Me was on there (can't think of his name offhand. I thought he was dead but apparently I had him confused with someone else. Oh, Verne Troyer is his name.

They always pit Felix and Oscar together. Tho I saw that one, from now on I'll probably look for a rerun of a sitcom or something online. There's lots of movies I haven't seen or haven't seen in a long time so there's plenty to watch during those leisure times.

I've always liked Hines Ward but even that wasn't enough to watch the show.

I've met two people (not married to one another) who were part of a wife-swapping 'club', and I'm told that the old country house weekend game of room keys in a bowl is still played in the UK.

I felt that the swappers were VERY interested in sex...perhaps addicts? I was amazed that a weekend in the country with friends could still be boring enough to resort to room key bingo. I wonder how voluntary these activities are for every spouse. I guess it could be safer than the hook-ups that we are told are not unusual today, with the result of soaring STD rates.
