Reversion? How do I tell?

I just noticed today that my Paul’s Glory has a lot of solid
green leaves. I had noticed a few before, but didn’t pay attention that they
were solid green all around, and that there were so many of them. Would this be
a reversion?

It may be unrelated but…This hosta has not had good color
the last few years. There is little contrast. It used to be my favorite hosta,
now there is nothing much to see. It is at least 10 years old, and about 2 1/2 feet in diameter. . It gets little if any
direct sun. House shade til about 1 pm,
then maybe a little dappled sun after. The Inniswood 3 feet away has good color,
and so does the Remember Me 2 feet further away from the house.

First thought...too much shade. Inniswood and Remember Me were my clues. You could separate/slice off an outside piece and grow it 2 feet forward without disturbing the rest of the mother plant. If it improves in colour...well...it will be a chore to move the original biggie!

Would insufficient sun make it go all green? The tree overhanging this bed must have gotten more dense. Sounds like a good experiment! As long as I don't do much damage. The only hostas I've divided were ones I didn't care much about.

The following assumes that your are righthanded or at least knitting righthanded. After finishing the first row of the bobble on the knit side, DO NOT TURN but insert your lefthand needle purlwise into the back of the last stitch you just made (as though you were going to just slip it) and finish the stitch, wrapping the yarn around the lefthand needle counterclockwise and drawing it through to the lefthand needle. "Reverse knit" across all bobble stitches, and then again without turning, continue the pattern to complete the bobble. I hope this helps or maybe someone else can explain it better. It's so easy to show how something is done but putting it into words is harder.

Oopsie, I plan on talking to him. Because I have seen his temper I'm afraid of what he may do, not sure why? When he let me know that the wood grain was going to show thru in the front of the cabinets, said how that wasn't included in the sanding and spackling, I agreed to give him 200 extra, even though DH and I knew it was included, wanted it done right. When he let me know his estimate for painting skylight, sofit and walls didn't include ceiling, he thought it was going to be another extra. Who would expect a job with (new lighting,under counter lighting, granite counertops, carpentry, crown molding, floor, added pull outs, new appliences)not to have ceiling painted? At this point I just want to pay him for what he has done and get him out of my house. If I have to stay home with him while he paints the inside frame with 2 coats of paint, I will sit in the kitchen and watch. Is there anyway of me telling if he did the agreed on 2 coats of paint on the front part of my cabinets? Since he told me several times it wasn't necessary to give 2 coats of paint, I feel he didn't do it,even though he said he did, obviously I don't trust him any more. When he paints the frames he will have to cover my granite, and will also have to take the doors off (inside hindges), do I tell him this, or assume he will do this the proper way? I'm afraid the quality of this work won't be the same, which is why I ageed to the price he gave me. My mistake was looking at his own house as an example of his work, in my home he cut as many corners as he could, in his own home he cut no corners. He has also told me several times that for the "money I paid him and for my doors I could have had a new kitchen", till I asked him never to say that again. He has made other comments, which have done what they are suppose to do, shut me up and get me out of the kitchen! Thanks in advance for your help.

Help! How do I reverse putty and primer on my wood windows

It can be done. It's tedious. Sand the primer down to fresh wood. A 180 grit works best. Wipe all surfaces with generous amount of mineral spirits. Dig out the putty, spackling, etc. Clean with mineral spirits. The bottom of the puttied holes doesn't need to be clean. The stained putty applied after the poly coat will hide that. I've stained over primer with gel stains but it's not the best for a window. Michael

It would be more likely that the linkage adjustment is off. Many of these were adjusted at the pedal below the pan. I had seen a Cub though that had a bracket on the transaxle that interfered with the linkage being able to push the arm back far enough. Start by seeing of the arm is moving all the way into reverse and work from there.

its a reversion ... it has to be cut out

if part is true to form.. and already colored up ... this part is not going to color up later ... period ...

Look at Perry's True Blue in the hosta library. If it looks like that, it's a reversion.

Dang it. It does look like Perry's True Blue. And it's a good third of the plant. How do I do this? Sharp knife cutting down from each affected eye? I have to leave town but will try to do it when I return.

dig it up ... hose it off.. tape out the two parts.. and do it surgically ...

none of which i am sure you wanted to hear ...

PTB would make it a reversion ...

Sigh… the leaves look exactly the same as Paul’s Glory,
except for being solid green. At least I can get to this one to dig it out,
there is not much in a foot radius around it. Once I get it out of the ground,
hose it, tape it, etc., am I trying to tease out the sections, or just chop
them out with a knife?

Ironically, I have a “new” section I was going to divide
some hostas to fill (my husband obligingly cut down a crummy rangy juniper shrub
for me). It’s not valuable real estate, so not worth buying something. But I
never told Paul’s Glory to make something for me, really I didn’t.

I've read that some are doubting Perry's True Blue being the parent plant of Paul's Glory, Chris Wilson being one, because the flowers don't match each other. Made me go "Hmmm..."
