Looking for pictures of rooms in plum/purple for Master Bedroom
Comments (4)I think the comtemporary is only dictatedd by the style not the color so I would not worry about what she says. Have you gone to pull paint chips to see what works with your duvet fabric? I do think it will be tricky .. and as someone who has two gallons of the wrong color in her garage I do suggest getting a test color to try out. Also.. if you find a paint chip you like.. pickup 9 of them..the cut out the color you like and then tape them together to get a better idea of the color. Also remember that it's going to look darker on the wall so even with a deep tone you might want to go up by a shade or two if possible. I can't wait to see it!! Comments (38)I also think that carob chip is a good choice because the brown in it will play well with my other colors. The walls around the dining room are BM shaker beige and browns look really good with it. Carob chip is dark enough to make a big statement, and still has the purple in it that I love without it looking like my daughters room. I'm so excited to paint it! We're repainting our entire house and I'm going to paint the dining room last. I want my first impression of it to be the way it looks with all of the new color around it. It will clash with what is currently on the walls. Hopefully by Sunday night or Monday I will have it finished....See MoreLooking for very dark red fragrant rose?
Comments (43)Oklahoma is one of my favorites: Firefighter is NOT dark red. It's medium fire truck red, on the orange/pink side of red. The variety selection in Oz is different from the USA, but a great old HT rose available in your country is Charles Mallerin -- ugly plant though. I have 3X gallon sized plants from Roses Unlimited growing out in #5 pots at the moment. They have bloomed, but probably still too immature to give that saturated black velvet effect. I'm no Francophone, so it took me many many years to realize the name is actually pronounced "Shawl Mahlran." Oklahoma & Papa Meilland are it's seedlings, you should skip the bush version of PM. I'm very jealous of the Climbing Papa Meilland in OZ, because it's not sold in the USA. I recommend you try Black Baccara. It's a satisfying garden plant with very long lasting florist type roses. The fragrance is light at best, but it's a sacrifice for petal longevity. Each 5" perfectly shaped flower lasts over two weeks on the bush for me. Dakota Redwing is brick red or burnt orange during summer and most of the year. I have yet to see a purple bloom, but now would be perfect conditions with cold nights and clear daytimes. The first year has been underwhelming.... I grow the miniature Black Jade near my doorstep because I like to affix it to my jacket's lapel when I go into town. It's a beautiful blood red colour. I'm ordering Black Magic this upcoming Spring, so can't yet comment on its performance. You can find pictures to all of these on HMF....See MoreAre there any true "red" varieties of AV's?
Comments (30)Rosie, I don't know if your question marks were intended for me or not but just in case, I will explain. I got tired of "Thrip Wars". I have had them on and off for over a year and after recently finding a couple more on a few plants, I went to "DEFCON 4". I debudded/flowered everything in the house. On Wednesday I gave everything green in the house an "Avid" bath. After two more Wednesdays, I will resume normal operations. Hopefully I'll have some peace w/o them rascals eating up my plants. All went well and all of my plants seem none the worse for wear. They really, really want to grow some flowers though. Holy mackerel, I have not seem bloom stems like this in a long time!...See MoreUser
