We're starting a homestead!

We just moved from SF to Cary and are starting a homestead farm to teach independent living skills (including homesteading and sustainability skills) to young adults with special needs. Soon we'd like to provide after-school and summer camps for students, too (as my professional background is in Special Education, with an emphasis on autism). But, in the meantime, we have a LOT of work cut out for us establishing the whole property!

So, we are looking for the following donations:

Cuttings (for rooting) of:
-Berries (of all kinds)
-Fruit tree cuttings
-Willow/Salix ('Flame,' 'Hakuro Nigishi,' purpura, vitellina 'Golden,' etc)
-other plants for progagating (dragonfruit, aloe, perennials, bulbs, succulents, ground covers)
-and any Seed packets, no matter what year packaged!

Materials:
Reclaimed Fencing (chain-link, wooden, etc.)
Chicken wire, hardware "cloth," metal mesh wire, etc.
Reclaimed wood, windows, or tempered glass (shower doors, etc. to build a greenhouse.)
Leftover Hardware: screws, hinges, gutters, food-grade totes (for collecting rainwater)
Clay (preferably pure clay leftover from a pottery studio)

Fertile eggs for hatching:
-Ducks
-Chickens
-Quail
-Turkeys

...and I'll take a broody hen, if you have one, too!

Tools:

-Woodworking tools
-Gardening tools

-Art Supplies, including copper wire, canvas, tiles, paints, trim, etc. and clay!

Other randoms:
-old cast iron tub and/or clawfoot
-Rabbits (for manure, not meat)

We are going to start hosting volunteer/gardening days and workshops very soon (Summer 2015). Email reaachautism@gmail.com or go facebook.com/sustainabilities.org

Thank you for supporting our mission!
