Recommending BBC Series "Accused"

As one reviewer said, "This is strong stuff," so don't expect any cozy British mysteries here. We have found the stories to be compelling and well acted -- without *gratuitous* violence. There are subtitles. (We have this on a set of DVD's from our library.)

Each of ten segments (2010 - 2012) is stand-alone. The common element is that each individual is being tried and sentenced for a serious crime (mostly murder). Each story unfolds via flashbacks.

We've watched four segments during our usual "teatime matinee". We've inserted them between recorded episodes of "Wolf Hall", "Call the Midwife", "Mad Men", and "Mr. Selfridge" -- most of which are now wrapping up.
